As an alternative to the VSM-3, the Blackbox HG2 is also very good. Easier to use and also sounds great for thickening sounds but also for mastering. With the coupon its $19....

I have all the Bx consoles and the Lindell Neve, except the SSL9000J and I use almost always the 4000 E,sometimes the console N,rarely the Focusrite and never the 4000 G.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:49 am Ah OK I already have the Focusrite so probably don't need the others then
I like a lot the EQ on the 4000 E,for what it is worth.I use it on everything, especially when I need a boost.
The console N has a different character, maybe cleaner than the 4KE but wonderful on its own too.I prefer the high end range of the EQ section better than the 4000 E.Maybe the console N would be more suitable for keys sounds, according to my tastes anyways..The 4000 E is great on drums,I agree with one of the post.
I demoed the 9000 J and I found it awesome sounding on everything.More 'Hifi' than the 4000 E,less coloured.I found Its compressor way better than the 4000 E.

Thanks - tbh in the end I decided to go for something different and bought the Lindell console for $11Cro-magnon wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:16 pmI have all the Bx consoles and the Lindell Neve, except the SSL9000J and I use almost always the 4000 E,sometimes the console N,rarely the Focusrite and never the 4000 G.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:49 am Ah OK I already have the Focusrite so probably don't need the others then

This looks interesting. What else out there does what it does? SmartComp? MSpectralDynamics? Anybody use DSM V3 regularly? It says it can be used creatively--what they mean by that?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

The Lindell Neve sounds great too,I like the dynamics section on this plugin and the preamp. The EQ sounds good too but it's not as flexible as the other Plugin alliance consoles, obviously.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:24 pmThanks - tbh in the end I decided to go for something different and bought the Lindell console for $11Cro-magnon wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:16 pmI have all the Bx consoles and the Lindell Neve, except the SSL9000J and I use almost always the 4000 E,sometimes the console N,rarely the Focusrite and never the 4000 G.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:49 am Ah OK I already have the Focusrite so probably don't need the others then

I mainly don't use this console as much as the bx-4000E because it adds latency,it's a odd design decision for a channel strip in my opinion. It eats more cpu ressources than the other consoles too.
Optimized, cpu efficient code is important for a channel strip plugin.

MEGA-SALE-20-OFF did not work for me when I went to buy BX Oberhausen. I got the message "This product is not eligible for dynamic discounts." Any ideas?
