I don't know why they got banned, but I don't think it has anything to do with the OSC or this thread in particular. If you do decide to join, you can expect a warm reception in this corner of KVR. Welcome.slope wrote: Sat Dec 26, 2020 12:01 am Hello, I see this competition and sounds like fun. I may join, but I see two people banned. Brothr Greg and Wes Kilbride. What happened? They say something bad? Everybody seems friendly here but these two gone and no question why. Makes me nervous. Ok to ask?

Vital x 42 (part of them for vocals); A1TriggerGate x1; BlueARP x2; bx_cleansweep Pro x 1; bx_subfilter x1; coreFX; Volume Former x2; H-Comp Mono x3; HY-MBDrive x1; Inspirata Lite Reverb x1; LoudMax x1; Luftikus x1; OTT x2; R4 Reverb x1; ReaEQ x16; TDR Kotelnikov x2; TDR Nova x2; Time Adjustment Delay x1; Vocal limiter x1.

Lyrics/phrases (Latin/English):
Omnes una manet nox / The same night awaits us all
In absentia lucis Tenebrae vincunt / In the absence of light, darkness prevails
Ira deorum / Wrath of gods
Qui totum vult totum perdit / He who wants everything loses everything
Verbum Domini manet in aeternum / The word of the Lord endures forever
Acta deos numquam mortalia fallunt / Mortal actions never deceive the gods
Factum fieri infectum non potest / It is done, it cannot be undone
Creatio ex nihilo / Creation out of nothing
Igne natura renovatur integra / Through fire, nature is reborn whole
Novus ordo seclorum / New order of the ages
Deo volente x2 / Gods willing
Idea behind lyrics/phrases is that humanity as whole has sinned, so the Gods will is to punish humankind and to wipe out world to create new one.

Nice to see that someone uses them! And you used them very well.
Like your WIP so far a lot. Very groovy and well played.

Merry Christmas all!
Here's my submission for this month's OSC. I wanted to make a more traditional type of festive song that summed up 2020 (at the end) and with Lyrics but i gave up in the end with trying to tune & time multiple instances for the TTWT. I opted for a single vital instance for the Chorus's lyrics and another vital instance for the spoken chords throughout.
Vital is an amazingly powerful synth, still can't believe it is available for free. I would have liked more time to tidy things up a bit with the mastering and maybe trim some of the Christmas fat off it, but I have just been so busy.
Maybe January's and Februarys could be vital again?! - have so many ideas I want to do for different tracks
Ableton Live 10
30 instances Vital
A1 TriggerGate x 1, NEOLD V76U73 x 6, OTT x 4, bx subfilter x 1
bx Rooms x 4, bx Delay2500 x 1, Wider x 1, Saturate x 1, Sandman x 1
dearVR Pro x 2, SPL Twin Tube x 1, SPL Vitalizer x 2

Saturator x 6, Glue Compressor x 10
Auto Filter x 2, Utility x 20

Of course, I understand that this raises a lot of difficult questions about the organization. But in December, most people really don't have much time, and so great synth like Vital risks not getting the attention and recognition it deserves, and even some frustration (but he's cool anyway!). So I would also like to spend another OSC month with Vital! What could it be? I don't know... Continuation of the Vital month? New Vital month? Vital without commercial effects? Vital with no effects at all? Best Christmas / New Year Song with Vital? Merry Vital? Happy New Vital?..
I do not know, but if a lot of OSC'ers really want it and make a wish, maybe a Christmas and New Year miracle will happen and this will become possible!

100% the same here. Vital's capabilities and ease of use is a greater source of inspiration than i could've ever hoped for in a single OSC month.MilksterX wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:51 pm Maybe January's and Februarys could be vital again?! - have so many ideas I want to do for different tracks![]()
i have meanwhile 5 vital WIP projects of which 2 are about 98% finished.
so i also would definately enjoy another round / month in january for vital.

Wouldn’t this be of concern, that means a two, possibly three month opportunity to make a track, rather than the 1 month deadline.keith303 wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 5:36 pm100% the same here. i’m not against the idea of Vital again, although there are other synths available ( exact lite?)
maybe, alternative Synth challenge involving vital, no prizes, just the joy of making?

Someone, having a calendar month, (for various reasons) makes a track in two, possibly three hours!
Imagine what they could do if they had six hours in two months?!
Of course, playing for fun is also a good variant!

I don't want Vital again for next month. Vital doesn't work on my computer. Obviously i haven't tried Vital yet, and i'm new to Osc, so i don't really understand what the excitement about Vital is.

That sucks not being able to use it. Did you get anywhere with finding out why?Spring Goose wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:15 pm I don't want Vital again for next month. Vital doesn't work on my computer. You're right it wouldn't be fair, maybe one to use on the next "any synth" round then.Eauson wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:48 pmWouldn’t this be of concern, that means a two, possibly three month opportunity to make a track, rather than the 1 month deadline.keith303 wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 5:36 pm100% the same here. Yeah, I would definitely vote against an immedate follow-up month for Vital. But definitely expect and look forward to it showing up again! Maybe I'll have enough time to actually make something that doesn't suck... maybe the next few days will let me do that this month! But oh, Witcher 3, you entice me so...

You should most definately give Vital a more in depth shot, it's one beast of a softsynth ! The first one which truly radiates that "everything is possible" feeling for me. I'm sure Ciri will be fine without your help the next four daysz.prime wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 10:35 pm maybe the next few days will let me do that this month! But oh, Witcher 3, you entice me so...
