I have Oberhausen but not the arturia SEM;which one of the two do you prefer, sound wise?
Hey - Too early to say here re Arturia vs the Oberhausen as it's new to me. First impressions are that these are equal in terms of what they do in common. The Oberhausen has the easy stereo features and FM whilst the Arturia has the sub osc. IMHO both synth's filters sound great.

The Oberhausen deal was a no brainer at today's price but it's going to take some time to pick an outright winner, if there could be one.

And just like that BYOME on sale with bonus coupon no less. :phones:

Thank you Plugin Alliance, and per the thread topic, definitely worth the $20 spent. 8)
Yo Leroy!

Got Thorn for 19.99, definitely a great deal. The presets are quite mediocre IMHO and some sound sets outhere show the synth can do much more than EDM aggressive sounds.

Thorn, Byome..

No love for SPL Passeq?

DS Audio Thorn
bx_subsynth
Adaptr Metric AB
All the Unfiltered Audio plugins.

These are basically the only things from PA that I think are worth buying, but I'm probably in the minority. I don't really care about all of their hardware and console emulations.

There are nice emulations though, if someone is after them. I like Lindell stuff, though I got them for free and rarely use them but if and when.... I like them :hihi:

Harder to complain about things when they're free!

Mäag Audio EQ2. The best mixbuss "refreshener" ever (Air Band: 40kHz / Air Band Gain +10 and use Input Attn to trim to your taste).
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

With the current offer I felt tempted to try the Maag EQ4. After playing with it for a few hours I found it offers something that my other EQ’s don’t have and bought it for around £9. I’ve been experimenting with the Maag EQ4, PSP’s E27, Toneboosters EQ4 and some of IK’s modelled EQ’s on some jazz vocals and can see the Maag EQ4 getting some use here.

Looks like SPL Vitalizel can still do wonders in 2020 and I'll finally get it. How old is this plugin?
From the other hand, I tried NSEQ-2 and it sounds like native DAW digital EQ. It's 7 years old and it sounds like 7 years old EQ.
Console N and G4k: I tested them again and again my conclusion is that these consoles are not doing anything good to sound, either opposite. After testing them as a virtual mixing console on 100 channel song I felt like I work in a low sample rate. As the definition of the sound was taken away. Bizzare.
I suppose that those consoles work well for Rock, Country and 'classic' sound?

Oberhausen is definitely a diamond in $9 plugins range in this promo.

I don't think the age of a plug-in, say up to 7 years, makes that much difference. As an example, some of u-he's stuff is older than that and still sounds excellent. Some plug-in types have simply 'peaked' and did so some time ago

All the Tokyo Dawn stuff is also pretty old, yet also maintained and updated. The Curves and Algorithms should be pretty much the same though. The PA stuff is also maintained, yet more to keep them running on modern systems with slight improvements from time to time. Waves for example uses 20 year old code and maintains to keep those running on newer systems. So kind of agree the older ones can still be pretty good & useful. Actually the NSEQ-2 is one of the better ones they have imho; the TE-100 would be another one. Its a matter of taste anyway & depends on lots of things & variables what suits you.

Console N sounds good to my ears. But i like that 1990s sound.

My songs and i think that original 1990s songs doesn't have 100 channels though. I don't think the original desk had 100 channels.

Don't get me wrong. Some older plugins sound great to this day. But NSEQ-2 doesn't. It has a nice GUI and very basic 'digital' EQ under it. 7 years ago it could be a good option but today it brings nothing to the table.
