But I so much love using this synth! It is so much fun & easy to use. Also CPU is some problem (& it is slow top open every time but maybe it is only my computer)

There are already some tipps about how to reduce file size posted over there at the vital forum.SoundHunterrr wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 6:04 pmYrs I mean this! These presets size can get very huge and when you use Vital for long and get many presets it can be problems reallypdxindy wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:59 pmDo you mean the file size of presets?SoundHunterrr wrote: Tue Dec 29, 2020 7:05 pm I do not like the big file sizes, they can be very big. I find this problem in long run
And I am worried this is something that will not be worked for smaller file sizes.![]()
Matt has chimed in and promised to think about removing the large white noise "blob" contained in each patch ...
But I think the natur of wavetables, samples and all the free form LFOs and stuff in combination with a textual representation (open patch, it's basically a json structure) the file size will allways be considerably high.

Good news for me is the recall of preset names is fixed in old projects.... yes.(after reloading the preset and resaving)
Sad to know that vst3 cubase mac issues still have no been fixed....reported it before it was even released.

Best VST purchase of 2020: Easy/fun/rewarding synth to program, incredible sound/sculpting, strong active community, stronger active dev.
Take note industry, this is how new releases need to be done, at a price point frankly we weren't expecting (but will expect from here on out).

Exactly. Developers have families to feed, houses to buy, children to send to school etc...
I am curious to know how Matt can do that with his model, unless he has a 9-5 or independently rich.

Free for some, sure -- it was an intended marketing strategy that is working better than any other music-related product to date. Developers in other arenas already took notice, and will be a model for many to come.zvenx wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:33 am Free?

Matt will make more money from Vital than the vast majority of the solo developers, as well as a good portion of ones with big budgets or studio backing. No lecture or explanation forthcoming, its simply the truth for a whole lot of obvious (to me) reasons if you've been around awhile.

Really? You think he'll make more money that Synapse does from Obsession? I'd be very, very surprised if that was the case.
I'd rather have a product where I never had to worry about how active the dev is or what sort of "community" there is around it. i.e. A product that works out of the box with no problems, that is easy enough to understand that I don't need to engage with anyone else about it. So far I am yet to find any use for Vital so I am glad I didn't pay for it.
Really? Dozens of posts form people unable to install it on release day would have been enough to put a helluva lot of people off, I reckon.Psuper wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:07 amBest VST purchase of 2020: Easy/fun/rewarding synth to program, incredible sound/sculpting, strong active community, stronger active dev.

Regardless, I don't think, I know. He probably already did.

am a huge fan of vital, and think the free version will lead ppl to a paid one. but your post... where did you get your information? making something up does not, in fact, make it real. and every line in your post sounds like fantasy.Psuper wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:41 am

You'll have to get facts from Matt eventually if that's what you are really after. There's none yet aside from what is right in front of your eyes, and what your brain can deduce from past experience, neither of which I could produce for you.fisherKing wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:54 amam a huge fan of vital, and think the free version will lead ppl to a paid one. but your post... where did you get your information? making something up does not, in fact, make it real. and every line in your post sounds like fantasy.Psuper wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:41 am

Not sure if you've confused Vital with another synth as I don't think I got any install issues reported.BONES wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:45 am Really? Dozens of posts form people unable to install it on release day would have been enough to put a helluva lot of people off, I reckon.
There were sign in issues and content download issues but the install issues I received were either people not putting the plugin in the right place or people on an unsupported OS.
There were a lot of bugs reported and people may see how many and think Vital is unstable or buggy compared to other synths. However, you have to keep in mind that as a free product (with paid options) I get orders of magnitude more users than a paid product does. And more users means more bug reports.

I have been around and I totally disagree with you.
How will his model for instance make more money for him than say Steve at Xfer?
Please explain that to me. I am all ears.
