Tried both, not impressed. I recommend getting the TDR VOS SlickEQ GE.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 10:34 pm Last voucher - looking for a simple but musical EQ now - so Mäag Audio EQ4 or Millennium NSEQ?
What are your "must-have" Plugin Alliance plugins now that they are $29 ?

I'm tempted by the SPL Transient Designer Plus. I kinda like it, but I can't get a consistent sound out of bass drums. The first three kicks get the same transient enhancement, the fourth doesn't (it's lower). I used a kick loop with no variations whatsoever. Anyone has an idea on what's going on? Seems to work fine on snares and hats. VST3 x64 version, SC on or off.

How do Elysia's Alpha and Mpressor compare to TDR's Kotelnikov and Molot GE?

The Alpha Compressor can compress sides and mids separately if needbe. It also has an optional transformer warmth feed. And a Niveau eq. I don't know much about TDR & Molot to compare them.parnarules wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:13 pm How do Elysia's Alpha and Mpressor compare to TDR's Kotelnikov and Molot GE?
Demo the Alpha, I was impressed enough to buy it.

I prefer the Mpressor than the Molot GE personally.Mpressor sounds more 'analog','vibey' to my ears.I don't like the attack of the Molot's compression.parnarules wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:13 pm How do Elysia's Alpha and Mpressor compare to TDR's Kotelnikov and Molot GE?
As a bus compressor, again I prefer the Elysia Alpha compressor than Kotelnikov.I am not a fan of the TDR's compressors.

Elysia Alpha compressor's soft clipping feature is interesting too.

You certainly have more experience than the kid in the video if you are a KVR member since 2004.

I bought something today with the new year voucher and I didn't get charged VAT... I wonder if that's because I'm in the UK (and no longer in the EU as of today) or they made a mistake. I thought my purchase was cheap.....!

Help Dirk is click funnelling me into spending too much. I got the BX SSL G Console then when the voucher got reset I got the Focusrite SC. So now they got another to start the new year and the last 3 of the remaining plugins I wanted are still on the board.
Trying to decide between the BX 2098 EQ, Black Box HG-2 or the Shadow Hills.
I don't know why but I really like the layout of the 2098 plus the mono maker, stereo widener, TMT, and mis side functionality makes it very useful.
I don't really need a mastering compressor but many hip hop mixing engineers use the Shadow Hills because it adds that punch and grit and just has a sound.
The Black Box makes everything sound better clearly but what I like most about it is how it makes the low end thump.

I noticed that. Think it may just be a January 1st reset bug. Buy quickly before they notice!cprompt wrote: Fri Jan 01, 2021 9:13 pm I bought something today with the new year voucher and I didn't get charged VAT... yeah that makes a lot of sense. it's like the softube summit EQ, it's 10 years old, and clearly sounds like a 10 years old eq, and also sounds like a native daw digital eq, right, because it's 10 years old.pixel85 wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 5:07 pm From the other hand, I tried NSEQ-2 and it sounds like native DAW digital EQ. It's 7 years old and it sounds like 7 years old EQ.
I loaded Strobe recently, I made a funny face when I got hit by the sound of a 12 years old synth lol it sounded so old, just this really old sound.
a quick glance around the webs shows that everyone except you is actually praising this plugin for its excellence, as you'd expect for something The Reimund cut his teeth on.
