My totally improvised entry:

I made a wavetable with a mantra and used a pure overtone tuning...

Hi all,
this is my first attempt on submitting something for OSC, after following it passively for quite some time. I just never managed to fabricate something worthwhile. But Vital is just an amazing synth, so here it goes.
#Submission
Neuronal Short Circuit

Produced in Reaper 6.19
10 instances of Vital
ReaEQ, ReaComp, ReaGate,

Damn, I downloaded a bunch of presets outside of this thread but can't use them because I just read that presets store the wavetables inside of them.
If I buy a higher tier of Vital than the basic free, are those presets allowed?

Yes, but having wavetables in the presets isn't necessarily against the rules. It's only when using the wavetable as a sampler, like if you take a sample and put it in the wavetable and play it back frame by frame so it is effectively just playing the sample back.briefcasemanx wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:51 am Damn, I downloaded a bunch of presets outside of this thread but can't use them because I just read that presets store the wavetables inside of them.

WOW, what a powerful synth. I already paid for it (donated). Thank you Mr. Tytel for giving this to the music community for free, I wish I had it a long ago when I first started. This thing is a dubstep machine. I love dubstep as everyone who has heard my entries already knows. I feel that this synth is begging to be abused and I feel that dubstep will demonstrate this well. This track is harsh to the ear and thus the recommended listening is at the highest volume.
I am most proud of the percussion in this song, mainly because it took me about 10 hours to get them just right. I redesigned them 4 or 5 times from scratch, i may post the presets and the full processing chain. I used a lot of presets, which are excellent!! I didn't want sound creation to slow me down. So what you hear is what this synth can do out of the box. Obviously I manipulated the presets a ton, (automation). I used all free plugins because I didn't know that I could use commercial, but reaper stock plugs and some free ones do the job magically so I'm not mad.
This song is short but aggressive, this is the 4th version of the song here. I wanted to contrast the soft and quiet with harsh and loud. Compression and limiting have been pushed as far as the free plugins will allow it. I am so excited to listen to everyone's entries.

I have a track that's almost ready to submit, but when I read the OSC rules again I realized maybe I should ask first — is it OK to use Reaper's stock JS Convolution Amp/Cab Modeler plugin? It does color the sound, but the rules weren't really clear about how much is too much.

People in the past have used Voxengo Boogex, i believe the rules are it shouldn’t overly modify what is possible, such as too much distortion etcneologism wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:19 am I have a track that's almost ready to submit, but when I read the OSC rules again I realized maybe I should ask first — is it OK to use Reaper's stock JS Convolution Amp/Cab Modeler plugin? Is there no way you could create a second version of the same sound with an instance of Vital and slam it with built in Distortion and compression/reverb and/or a separate convolution reverb like melda to achieve similar? (this is just a suggestion, not what you should do

Dope track man. I love Hardstyle! Insta-Like. And impressive list of plugins ... quite a number of waveshaping and distortion stuff ... hope you did review the rulez about only very moderate use of those distortion thingies.Hard3eat wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:49 pm Okay everyone, here's my entry for this month challange

Nice track Hard3eat but doesn't this break the rule about loading non-factory samples into the sample player? I don't think the speech has been created using the TTWT at least it doesn't sound that way to my ears, would love to be proved wrong though...Hard3eat wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:49 pm Okay everyone, here's my entry for this month challange
