It's a f**king discussion forum, page 146 of a thread of a synth that amongst things, has a different business model. I'd imagine most are wishing him success and interested how it will affect other SW (as normal people and users of said SW) rather than aspiring to be accountants.ijiwaru wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:59 am Why the f**k are people so concerned with how much revenue a dev might be making from their software synth? Are you musicians or accountants?

It won't affect U-he, Arturia, Synapse, if this is what you want to know. Also, a similar model has Melda production and Tokyodawn.revvy wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:03 amIt's a f**king discussion forum, page 146 of a thread of a synth that amongst things, has a different business model. Looks like Vital forum is the place to be.

It might, to some degree. I demo'd the free version for a bit, liked it so much that I bought the pro version. I now feel that my WT synth needs are more-than-covered, so have little interest the offerings from other devs (right now anyway).Igro wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:07 amIt won't affect U-he, Arturia, Synapse, if this is what you want to know.
I understand that I am just one person within the multitude, but I can't be the only one who feels this way.
(All that stuff aside, I do wish Matt much success with VITAL. It really is very good)

Well, I'm not interested in other expensive synths too anymore. 199 euros, for example? Big NO! If my behaviour affects other developers, then it's good.lessera wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:32 amIt might, to some degree. I've been using this for the first time over the last day or so trying to make a song for the OSC thread. The preset behavior is super annoying. If I choose a preset in the user folder, say "evolving pad" then go to a different plugin, when I go back to Vital and press the "next preset" button, it goes back to whatever the default preset folder is instead of keeping my place in the user folder.
To get to the next preset in the user folder, "evolving pad 2", I need to click back on the user folder and scroll through to find my place again.

Wait, what is the melda model? For some reason I was under the impression that their plugins were insanely expensive which is why i've been ignoring them.Igro wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:07 amIt won't affect U-he, Arturia, Synapse, if this is what you want to know. They have tonnes of free plugins. Then constant 50% discounts. I bought AutoDynamicEq for 29 bucks (with a referral discount code).briefcasemanx wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:26 amWait, what is the melda model? i asked her what she thought of your posts; no harm in that. now, let's get back to discussing vital...revvy wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:46 am You had your gf get involved? LMAO
All this drama is due to one post a few folks disagree with about business models? Serious bizness. And of course, anyone who disagrees with you is a troll, that stands to reason *sunglasses*
I just got a message from my mummy telling me to get back on topic : dev model worked too well for me as I've stuck with the free version. Bold move by the dev, hope it works out well for him.

There are many people who paid at least for the Plus (like me) or even for the Pro Version to get additional content, so I don't think Matt Tytel has to starve just because he is offering a free Basic version. TDR seems to be happy with their business model, too, and there are still people who buy the Gentleman versions with additional features despite free versions!

You bet... because they are so f***g good, and they offer extra features. Regarding Vital, I'm not interested in extra content, so I stick with the free version, at least for now. But I have been passing word about it.Tricky-Loops wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:12 pm There are many people who paid at least for the Plus (like me) or even for the Pro Version to get additional content, so I don't think Matt Tytel has to starve just because he is offering a free Basic version. We depend on this being a healthy market for developers. Through this, many amazing plug-ins have been developed that we get to pick from.ijiwaru wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:59 am Why the f**k are people so concerned with how much revenue a dev might be making from their software synth?
