Good work. I liked the composition and arrangement. Well mixed dynamic soundscape.

This is now the 2nd track of yours I've listened to. You need to post more of this stuff. It is such a refreshing change of pace from the "usual" EDM and Pop that's posted here, including my own drivel. Stravinsky would be proud.

Yeah, I do agree that there's maybe a bit too much identikit EDM on here some days.
If Igor is happy... I'm happy!

Hi Mark,
I recently finished reading the Inferno again, just started on the Purgatorio a few days ago, so I thought I'd revisit your piece. The program notes are helpful for anyone who doesn't know the poem, but the music by itself makes the situation pretty clear, it is telling the story as Dante tells it in the first two Cantos.
Got a better appreciation for the musical balance of the sections too. The continuity is very good, I didn't think the piece lasted 7 minutes.
Best regards,
dp

Glad you still enjoyed the piece after reading Dante!
I skim read it again in prep for the project...lot of pressure on my piece as it was a project involving 80 composers across the world and mine was to be the piece that everyone heard first!
I've since read it properly for the second time and it is an extraordinary piece of writing. Didn't do Purgatorio or Paradiso this time...maybe I should go back to them as well.
I'm now reading Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress (2nd time)...on a bit of an 'EveryMan' binge! The comparisons between the two are very obvious and I know Bunyan got a lot of stick for plagiarising Dante at the time until someone pointed out that there was no actual translation available to him!
Tricky composing this one - it had to 'tell the story' of those first two Cantos, but I also wanted it to stand alone as a piece of music for anyone who just came across it with no knowledge of Inferno whatsoever!
