it has to be used with MIDI keyboard, during the recording it automagically creates new phrases(patterns) when you keep pauses on your playing then the recording can be cleaned with another extension after it can be sampled<>resampled/effected, triggered differently by parts/chopped whatever you want

has a really creative workflow, excel sheet is in it mainly for tweaking/controlling the system not for composing check the video, the workflow of it simply can't be reproduced in DAWs

Workflow seems more complicated, slow and painful to learn from how I remember using Octamed back in the 1990's. There is a Scottish guy who does proper video tutorials on Renoise, who would provide a better narrated example of what's going on in how it's done.

If you could post a link to one of those tutorials, I'd really appreciate it. I have Renoise, but have no idea where to start with it.

Yeah Hunz is a very clever Renoise user, hopefully the Renoise developers can concentrate on ARM now, Renoise on pi400 is the future.

fyi, Renoise similarly to Ableton Live doesn't know MIDI channels in its inner routing, talking about this case

ALiases are there to control the multiple parts of a multimbral vst , and that,s not what I mean
I want to control multiple vst instruments from just one plugin ( which has multiple midi outs )...

I’ve requested the same thing. It also makes the Rapid Composer vst unusable with Renoise, for example.

I don’t get why it hasn’t been fixed. It shouldn’t really be that difficult to forward and filter the midi channel...

so MIDI generators which use multiple MIDI channel (like Nora) have to be put inside the VST chainers

hallelujah - hallelujah the MIDI channel on the left isn't a channel filter but simply hardcodes all the incoming MIDI notes to the selected one, clever

anyway I've lost half an hour with googling so be warned ...

Perhaps if there is enough noise coming from the userbase about it, it will be worth it for the devs to look into, but imo only a very few people work with midi plugins in its current implementation. Maybe it is a secret weapon and people keep quiet , not advertised enough, but there's hardly any positive ir negative feedback on it.

Always worth looking at the 'tools' as well, it's amazing what people have made as 'native plugins' (Renoise equivalent of MAX!) to cover a lot of user requests and expand Renoise significantly.

Nora works perfectly inside Voltage2 instances just because it has its own sequencer wanted to use it first...

yepp extensions are pretty good, I've got PRE (“PIANO ROLL EDITOR”)

(not a free one, https://forum.renoise.com/t/new-tool-3- ... 2020/49722) and works perfectly with Nora(I've put chord sequences inside PRE that ones go to Nora instances)

PRE above is working perfectly with 3.3 too can confirm, tried to use my old workflow

creating instrument clip(phrases) with https://www.renoise.com/tools/noodletrap using MIDI keyboard
cleaning out with https://www.renoise.com/tools/voicerunner (Nora no needs note offs for ex.)

In renoise a midi plugin can only send to one channel ( another instrument )
I have loomer architect and one instance of it can adress as many midi channels as you like , but sadly not in renoise .
I adressed this to the team a couple of years ago , I guess it’s not high priority .
