Goseba wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:51 am I've never used a tracker before, went straight to Pro24v3 on Atari after hardware sequencers, but I have just ordered the Polyend Tracker.

Looks great fun, just hoping the old grey cells can get to grips with it!
One of the things I like about it is its ease of use....some people have pointed out limitations but in some ways that what makes this fun and immediate. It is easer to master than most DAWS and I found it far easier than say my Electron stuff...if all else fails you can always just play the games :clown:

Works great of battery as well, well worth sending a tenner on a phone battery charger to make it portable!
I have watched numerous videos and it does look like I will get to grips with it quickly enough. One of my aims was to get songs reduced to just 8 tracks so it will fit in with that. (And I already have the portable battery charger :) )
I got an MC707 a while ago but that is just not grabbing me. But I have ideas about using the two together.

It's correct that you have only 8 Tracks BUT you can use Kick and Snare, for example, on the same track.

In the old days, musicians are splitting instruments to different channels, for example, Bass and Snare Track 1, kick and Hi Hats on another channel... The cool thing is when you use this method, it starts grooving like in the old days...

Ordered it a couple of days ago... I'm kind of excited... Still waiting for delivery.

Saw this video today:
Has any user here experienced similar problems?

Not me (not looking either), mainly used it with battery/in ear phones but plugged in my desk a few times (X32) in AUX sockets and had to crank gain up a bit in the desk and still didn't notice any background noise.

I watched the video, couldn't 'hear' anything in the video showing the problem- a video about a background noise with no sound! from the unit!!

Same here, I'm mostly working with headphones and I hear nothing... Maybe it's a noise in your system or you have a broken Tracker, my one is ok...

@SLiC
Since you're using PT a couple of days now... Have you encountered any major bugs?
Read about some problems with the device on the internet like freezes and crashes etc.
My greatest concern is about a problem with exported stems slowly drifting out of sync.

tl.

@tl - don't worry about the floor 'noise issue', this is the first I have heard (seen!) about it!

Polyend are putting everything in top this unit- 1.3 was an amazing update and there have been 2 more betas in the last week (1.3B2 now- bug fixes mainly) I suspect this is a passion project for them!

I'm excited in the first place. Positively...
but surfing the interwebz often leads to more doubts and questions than answers.
In the meantime I'll focus on the following...

Is it possible to sample the NES emulation sounds in the PT (similar to the FM radio feature)?

tl.

No. Not with version 1.3, maybe it will added in future updates.

I haven't had an issues personally but a few days barely scratches the surface....I haven't exported any stems yet (I think the issue was fixed in 1.3), I haven't sampled anything external (sampled from radio), I haven't used the Performance FX much (but its very cool, Like the OP-Z perform steps) so I still have a lot to learn and try...The tracker is a pretty new device and undoubtedly has some issues (so doe my MPC after many years!) but I have a lot of confidence in the way Polyend are approaching the bug hunting, its very open for all to see.... https://github.com/polyend/TrackerIssues and https://github.com/polyend/TrackerIssues/releases

The Performance fx I mentioned...you can take a fairly simple handful of patterns in to some new places with this, clever stuff.

I've not had much time with mine yet but am really enjoying it so far, it is making me think about getting Renoise too.
