I hadn't bought a pedalboard since wednesday, today I rectified that.
I have a Pedaltrain PT-Nano and yet another Harley Benton Spaceship 50C coming
Both intended for the final free spaces on my Jaspers rack, where they will house pedals to mess with my synths.

Finally got around to snagging a Hydrasynth desktop.

Every time I tried to buy one, they were sold out. I can see why... this thing is a load of fun. I've already created a few patches and recorded a part for a new song.
I think a Pro 3 may be arriving later this week.

I haven't decided anything yet. I'm waiting the NAMM (well... the online event... but that's the timeframe) for new products announcements.
I'm contemplating the idea of a 32 channels A/D D/A converter (so I won't need an analog mixer anymore), but I'm taking my time (it's an expensive purchase and it's a major rework of the cabling in my small room... which I can't afford right now, not for money reasons but because I'm working from home as a programmer in that very same room, so it has to be always in a reasonably working condition and any "bigger" work has to be completed over a weekend at most).
I'm still contemplating some dj equipment (I was thinking about that last year, but I didn't manage to get that... as much as I'm interested, dj gear is always at the bottom of my priorities... and also, I don't really know where to place it).
I'm also thinking about some pieces of outboard, but I have no plan yet... and of course, I'm always looking for synths, effects/pedals and such...
Anyway, this year's goal is to avoid spending too much
and to actually enjoy what I already own.
The only certain purchase is a set of angled jacks for a pedal board which I'm making in order to keep my pedals organized/ready to use (otherwise, I'm often too lazy to get them from the shelf/box where they are stored, connect them, etc... I need something quick and ready to use)... I started this project at the very end of last year, so this has to be completed. I'll need also some linear power supply (which I will likely build) to power all the pedals...

So I did buy the Orobas, 1 of 80. They are a limited run because the metal tubes are vintage military/industrial surplus I guess, while there are pin-identical and glass replacements available today, they would not sound same as the old tubes have slightly higher specs and whatnot. If you look in the video, you can see they are slightly rusting from age. Apparently, they are left over from his days of hunting down old tubes and collecting them to make guitar amps with, it seems he only has enough of them to make 80 units...
Quite an interesting module imo, maybe a little too boutique for many, but for the gear squirrels, quite a shiny bit of kit

In Feb my back ordered Tempi will hopefully arrive, but this will need a new case and I hate empty spaces so I foresee that I will be bankrupt and have filled all or most of another 208HP by the end of the year.

Picked up an Auledio laptop stand for my Microfreak.

I like it a lot better than the bamboo one I bought from Etsy, which wasn't very stable and of course not adjustable. This has a slight amount of bounce to it when playing the keyboard but that's better than the entire thing trying to tip over...

Maybe I'll buy a new piece of hardware in 2021... At least it's possible now; I'm moving next week, to a bigger apartment.
I never felt like I had a lot of hardware synths (or hardware in general), but when packing it all up, the mountain of cable spaghetti that revealed itself was... huge! I just picked up the pile and put it in a big moving box... I could hardly fit my arms around it.
I should do some better cable management this time... but that's what I said last time too.
This time it's maybe less important - it'll be my "endgame studio"(/apartment).
I'd love to have a few of these: https://www.decksaver.com/product-categ ... er-covers/
(yeah they're expensive)
But they have few covers for what I have. Not even one for the Pro2!

My Pro 3 arrived over the weekend and I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't touched the keyboard, other than to test a few of the factory patches.
...Instead I've been playing electric bass through it and building crazy feedback loops.
I had 4 desktop Evolvers over the years and I loved using them to process guitar and for drone patches. The Pro 3 has way more of what I love about the Evolver. I dig that the output is normalled to the external input. Modulating the filter with the synths own output is rad. It gets even crazier with a tube gain stage between the output and the input. The mod matrix is well implemented, lots of sources and even more destinations. I'll have a lot of fun recreating some of my favorite Evolver patches.

Argh... got sent a 10% discount voucher from Juno ( apparently, I'm one of their best customers.. cough cough choke)..
I ignored it 'coz I was gonna wait a few months for any new purchases...
then today I get an email informing me a module I had on my wish list "After Later Audio G&T Gates and Triggers" was in
just 1 in stock...
So I got that and Joranalogue Fold 6...
so much for restraint..

Erm Nik... when you told/advised me against going Eurorack a couple of years ago on FB_VCV forum, I was under the impression you didn't have, nor were going to get into H/W euro...lnikj wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 5:32 pm In Feb my back ordered Tempi will hopefully arrive, but this will need a new case and I hate empty spaces so I foresee that I will be bankrupt and have filled all or most of another 208HP by the end of the year.
Q: were you into it then... or like the rest of us...
just couldn't resist?

In 2021 I want to buy a good audio interface with lots of inputs (tired of using a mixer), a nice little sampler to accompany my TR-8 and some kind of acid machine. I also need some more outboard effects...and new monitor speakers. Aaaand a Keystep.

I'm 100% sure that I would have believed what I was saying at the time. Honest !
I succumbed. It started with a Volca Modular, then pedals, then a Koma Field Kit, then ... and all the time I was convinced I wasn't doing Euro. Then I thought I'd get an ES-9 to get stuff in and out of VCV ... and then I thought f**k it ... I might be dead in a few months
