Liquidsonics Seventh Heaven. is this fair game for this month's challenge?
"The Best M7 Simulation Ever. Simplified.
For years the Bricasti M7 eluded all attempts to capture and reproduce the subtle beauty of this legendary hardware. Many in the industry considered it impossible.
Fusion-IR is a unique modulated convolution-based capture and reproduction technology developed specifically around the needs of M7. It redefines the rules of acoustic and workflow possibilities for convolution based reverberation processors.
Now used around the world, from the smallest mountain-top backpack studios to the biggest post production facilities in London and Los Angeles, Seventh Heaven reverbs are the definitive way to experience the power and beauty of the M7 natively within your DAW.
Nothing comes closer to M7 hardware in your DAW than Seventh Heaven."

I just want to mention that Waldorf PPG Wave 3 is ridiculously lightweight on the CPU. I could easily have 20 instances of it on my humble computer.

Seems like it fits the rules this month. Convolution reverbs are usually fine, and since that's a hardware emulation it fits for this month's challenge.Spring Goose wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 11:39 pm Liquidsonics Seventh Heaven. is this fair game for this month's challenge?

Yes, I did :Spring Goose wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:55 pm ... Did you say what you're planning to using this month Elex?![]()

Ah the Odyssey. Good luck with that! Well done making your challenge more challenging. Was Pendulate your first time in top 5 Elex?ELEX wrote: Thu Jan 07, 2021 12:30 amYes, I did :Spring Goose wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:55 pm ... Did you say what you're planning to using this month Elex?

Question: if i want to include my OSC song for my playlist or album on my Soundcloud page, do i need to wait until voting is finished?
so what i mean is: can my OSC song be on my playlist during voting or must i wait till after voting finished?

@Spring Goose
Thanks...and yes, Pendulate was my first top 5 entry. Concerning SoundCloud : I'd think that as long as the link to your track remains the same you should be OK ; if it changes you'd be in trouble. Don't speak from experience though. Just test it prior to the deadline to avoid nasty surprises.

Convolution is basically a sample and the contest is themed around actual emulations as opposed to samples.Spring Goose wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 11:39 pm Liquidsonics Seventh Heaven. is this fair game for this month's challenge?

Would VK-1 Viking comply with this months rules? It seems to have a lot of modulation possibilities, so started wondering how accurately this is emulated.

I get no warnings for it. Not been bitten, either. Mr. Schulz is perfectly legit AFAIK. I already picked up one of his plugins a while back, no problems then either. Also scanned the file manually as I always do, no problems revealed. One does however need to create an account in order to activate this one. No worse side-effects than a newsletter. Pretty benign, I'd say. Don't know how the real thing sounds, but this sounds quite usable to me, a bit on the dark side and pretty smooth.doctorbob wrote: Thu Jan 07, 2021 5:22 pm My MalWareBytes says this site is suspicious ... anyone been bitten? Hey, didn't know that one yet. Looks like a fairly basic emulation. Any Voyager owners care to comment ?MrKarolus wrote: Thu Jan 07, 2021 5:50 pm Would VK-1 Viking comply with this months rules? Hello to the OSC community
I've never participated but I do listen occasionally what is done, and I'm always amazed by what you guys can do with obscure synths.
I'm contemplating a participation for this one (no guarantee, but I'd like to try just for fun) but I have some questions myself. I think I've read the whole thread and saw a lot of questions raised already, but no one seems to have a clear answer, isn't there any kind of "referee" to clarify some points? I'm not familiar with the way things are done usually, so maybe I've missed something, or maybe it is just some kind of gentlemen's agreement between the community, which is fine.
Anyway, rules for this month seem relatively simple for the most part. I think some suggestions such as Operator, BIT or synth1 are quite splitting hairs, as they've never been advertised as emulation, and that's the whole point of this month's challenge. On the other hand I don't understand all the doubts about Diva as soon as you stay with one template and don't mix minimoog oscillators with Jupiter filter for instance. I know it's not advertised as pure emulation, but that's no secret that the modules are emulations of well known synths. But, that's just my understanding of the rules, in no way I want to interfere in debates, nor start an argument
Now comes my real question: I own a minilogue XD and would like to use it if I participate. As some of you may know, it has 2 VCO's and a digital oscillator, in which you can load user made oscillators. Should I stick with the factory osc's or would it be allowed to use user oscillators? (Same question applies to the FX section of the XD, as you can load user FX's too). My guess is "stick with factory" but you never know.
Cheers guys
