But you might find those plugins on mirror sites, such as vst4free. Also archive.org often yields results for retrieving lost pages.L-EctroBit wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 4:38 am

Cherry Audio's MG-1+ (Radioshack Concert Mate MG-1) has been kicked around in this thread (by me), as well as Blamsoft Viking VK-1 (Moog Voyager). Full Bucket has also been mentioned, as he has some simulation of Korg synths

Just a thought on Echoboy and similar. These do of course try to capture the timbre of hardware but in no way try to capture the functionality. On the contrary, I'd say. They have their own, greatly expanded, functionality. That's not really an emulation, is it ?

ok. thanks for your thoughts. i was looking for thoughts! But isn't it the same for Diva?ELEX wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:51 pm Just a thought on Echoboy and similar. Kind of...but not quite. Diva does emulate the function of the Mini Moog and Jupiter with the appropriate modules selected ( just stay away from most of the temptations in the bottom half of the GUI and you're there
), while Echoboy or Repeater have only their own control configuration, with the 'emulations' as added flavor. Diva in a fantasy config is obviously not a proper emulation, however awesome it sounds.
Thanks for reminding me, I'd forgotten about that one.SeBaer wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 7:58 pm Another vintage delay, modelled after the echo program of the Ibanez DE-7.

I think my theory of devious psychological testing is more exciting, but I must admit that your suggestion that maybe the powers that be just thought that we would interpret the rules around Diva so as to not abuse it (in this context) to make 'fantasy emulations' is much more reasonable.
Thank you for your sanity.
My comment was not entirely serious. Nevertheless, you have righted my path

My internet is screwed up again, agh, resorting to expensive Mobile data, abroad!!
So, if synth1 is used, usage of the effects selector, distortion etc is not okay?

Hey, sorry for not chipping in sooner. Unfortunately the increasingly sur-Real world has intruded too much for past couple of weeks.
Looking through the questions and discussions it seems most questions have been pretty much answered anyway now. And the tone in which the challenge has been accepted is inspiring
My thoughts on some of the questions:
- Hardware Synths with combined sample/digital wave forms [should be okay, but remember the emphasis is always on synthesis for this challenge]
- Bouncing individual hits and layering. Splicing and rearranging. [Fine, but apply usual rules re stems and phrases, not for consistency or glitch]
- synths that combine hardware and a VST plugin [No problem]
- Is it allowed to choose and use a device that I have created for this challenge? [Fine - Full description needed]
- Synths and Modulars based on multiple hardware eg VCV rack, Diva [Preferably stick to only one emulation model, otherwise specify fully where any mixed modules used for your 'fantasy hardware synth']
- Emulations enhancements - midi (Velocity, MPE) [no problem]
- Emulations enhancements (Fx) [treat enhanced Fx as if they were external Fx]
- 'Inspired by' vs emulations [Use your best judgement]
For the most part use your best judgement, ensure your declaration of synth used is full, open and honest. Remember your efforts will be judged by the other participants at the end.
Most of all - HAVE FUN

I think Richard or Brian put that in there as a psychological group experiment to see if we could cope with the contradictory instructions with no further input from them. Perhaps to test the integrity of the group, or the effect on creative output, who knows![]()

Just stick with the VA and FM (you can use both) engines, no sample oriented stuff. I, too, have a Fusion!Saukar30 wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 4:19 am I want to use my Alesis Fusion. Am I allowed to use only 1 synthesis type or any that is on the synth?
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression
