Frankly, I'm not sure how much sense it would make to sell old software tech. Dune 3 is a much better showcase for the status quo of Synapse's software.

In late 2015 I was able to to purchase a Dune VST/AU (Downgrade from DUNE 2) after making a request on the Synapse Audio forum even though it was no longer for sale.

Well, since then, D1 and D2 have been permanently removed from the shop, so transfers aside, you cant buy it anymore, end of.

It really should just be made available for Dune 2 or 3 users with a warning in red that says "this plugin is no longer supported".

Of course that won't happen because some idiots will ruin it for the rest of us and start putting in a bunch of support tickets anyway.

I should probably just cave in and buy CM to get some of these plugins.

I'd really just do that. There's really not so much missing in the CM version. The synth section is exactly the same as the full thing, except for one page less of modulation matrix, and the missing effects. Plus there's a lot of other great stuff in the CM plugins, Bazille CM for example.

with updates to their 3 main synths coming, and working (apparently) on a new synth, I think it's fair to say that releasing a dead product is extremely unlikely....

Updates first, then new synth. I'd say the new synth is still at least a year away, possibly two, so don't get too excited yet. So far only the DUNE update has been put up for beta testing and that seems to be going very, very slowly.

Also still using Dune1 & DuneCM... If I need a bigger sound I just double or triple up still fine CPU...

Running Dune 1 last version 1.4 on Macbook Air M3 with Mac OS Tahoe and Logic Pro 12.2 with no issues

I love Synapse Audio Dune 1 VST!!
