Is it still in beta, or is there a final version now?

Surge is always in beta until it's not. But really we should be releasing this Friday or Saturday.

Keep the old one somewhere as a backup just in case. I don't think we changed the plugin ID.

On my system Reaper runs the old comercial version as VST2 and the new amazingly improved version as VST3. I'll keep it that way just in case some old project somehow should require the old version, even if that could be because old bugs made something sound a peculiar way that I liked back then.
One little (?) request: could some modulation be brought into the FX banks version some time in the future? It would make such a difference to have a couple of modulators, personally I don't care much about envelopes in the FX version but the rest would be sweet. If so would three or more be too much to ask so we can have a modulator modulate another and still have one to spare? A full set of six would affcourse be awesome, but I'm trying not to be too greedy here.
Finally dared take the plunge and installed the nightly. Love what you've done now, the few AirWindows FX I've tried out so far fits beautifully (especially one of my favourites BitGlitter). New filters are so sweet, though it'll take some getting used to knowing what will come out of the variations for some types. I've noticed nothing buggy about it for the time i've used it, though I've just been using it as I would have used any stabile version of Surge making my own patches from scratch and I haven't delibirately tried to break something to see if it'll run smoothly under pressure. Anyway keep up the amazing work, I'm so excited to see wat you come up with in the future and I love love love seeing one of my old favourites continously renewed like this.

The sallen key/ms20 filter in surge sounds considerably better ( more resonance ) than in odin 2 , you can't get it to scream in Odin
Since it's the same code I wonder why that is , is it re-written/modified ?

The filter code itself should be the largely the same (with the only difference that the Surge implementation is SSEified and some calculations were optimized out - you can compare the source codes yourself!). which shouldn't matter apart from lower CPU usage), but we push the saturation more - it goes up to 5.0 in Surge, based on which filter subtype you pick, in Odin 2 it goes to 3.0. So, K35 subtype 3 should be like max saturation in Odin 2. There is also, of course, possibility of different gain-staging between oscs and filter at play here, as well (especially considering the fact that MS-20 filter topology is quite sensitive to input gain).

Will this new update gonna include Skin made by Venus Theory? In some of his streams he showed it and said it will come with the upcoming Surge update.EvilDragon wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:03 am The filter code itself should be the largely the same (with the only difference that the Surge implementation is SSEified and some calculations were optimized out - you can compare the source codes yourself!). which shouldn't matter apart from lower CPU usage), but we push the saturation more - it goes up to 5.0 in Surge, based on which filter subtype you pick, in Odin 2 it goes to 3.0. We actually didn't include it (because it's really just a recolor of the dark skin) but for sure it will be downloadable from his site, or something.
There are, however, 50 new wavetables supplied by VT in the new version

Yers it is ,can't get that (typical) resonance behaviour in odin 2EvilDragon wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:03 am The filter code itself should be the largely the same (with the only difference that the Surge implementation is SSEified and some calculations were optimized out - you can compare the source codes yourself!). which shouldn't matter apart from lower CPU usage), but we push the saturation more - it goes up to 5.0 in Surge, based on which filter subtype you pick, in Odin 2 it goes to 3.0.
