So Massive X is limited but Synth1 is not! You just use presets, right?dellboy wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:12 pm I own Massive X and I was deciding whether to take that instead of synth1 but the latter won because Massive X sounds always have this "sameness" about them.
That hollow - industrial - metallic flavor.
Some of the latest presets have been demonstrating what it can do, and they show promise, but there is always this feeling that its limited in some way by its synthesis method, and when I am on the island I would want a synth that can do everything reasonably well.
I am mostly a preset + tweak type of person, yes.EnGee wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 4:47 pm

you're on a desert island, maybe now you have time? to get more in depth.dellboy wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:28 pmI am mostly a preset + tweak type of person, yes.EnGee wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 4:47 pm

I find Synth1 very easy to program but find Massive X more daunting.
I have been playing around with synths since the 1980s so I know how to program normal synths, but Massive X would require a lot of time for me to get my head around and I have been very busy of late. So I have just been playing with the presets when I get the time.
It has to be Surge because you will soon get very lonely on the island and Surge has all those free presets which were programmed by people you might even know and that will cheer you up.EvilDragon wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:44 pm It's a very very tough call between Zebra, Falcon, Reaktor and Surge over here...
True, but Synth1 gives mt that happy vibe every time I use it, and Massive X has yet to hit that spot.vurt wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:35 pm

seems a waste of an opportunity.
no one interrupting, no work, other than hunting a coconut.
