is this normal behaviour?

SQ Donky Tonk Happy Hardcore XP. The Donk has crackles on it. It's much easier to hear when isolating the Donk, turn off the reverb etc. I think it's related to the MB Distortion but the distortion isn't clean distortion.

Can anyone confirm. Please. Thank you

edit, it's not the MB Distortion, that simply makes it stand out more.

It encrypted c:/users/username/Appdata/local/AMD/GLcache

Antivirus is reporting it as ransomware. Obviously it's not.
It's your AMD graphic card's shader cache folder. What makes you think it's related to V-Manager?
anti-virus said it was V-manager encrypting the file, and it happened right when I was downloading stuff in V-manager.
I don't have much time to dig into OpenGL specifics but it's definitely not V-Manager issue nor it's V-Manager specific behavior.

Like I said, my AV reported it as v-manager, and it was right as I started using v-manager. I was also having a problem with my factory bank not loading correctly (I think because I tried using the factory bank I downloaded from the demo version). After downloading the factory bank and deleting the demo factory bank I got the AV message while installing the real factory bank. There's not really a question of what program was doing it.

I'm not afraid that Vengeance would put ransomware on my computer, that would be insane. I'm just slightly curious why files in that folder would be getting encrypted (I know nothing about openGL).

On my system V-Manager is not encrypting anything inside mentioned folder, nor any other application does. Bitdefender (my AV) is able to scan it without any issues. It may be related to your graphic card's drivers (in your case AMD Radeon) or your anti virus behavior - maybe it tries to do some heuristics and because these files are binary it may think they're encrypted (while trying to scan file headers or somethin').

Wayhey!!!! I FIXED IT! change mod envelope 1 to 1 shot. I was in there anyways as I wanted a faster pluck to the Donk. I'd tried many other settings first though.

Two questions that I can't seem to find an answer to in the manual:

1. Is there a way to make the drums one shot when playing them through midi notes instead of the internal drum sequencer? When I press a key on my midi controller I want it to play the entire sample even if I'm not holding down the key the hole time. It makes it very hard to use Avenger's drum sounds without using Avengers internal drum sequencer.

2. is there a way to crossfade the looping part on multi-samples? The manual mentions a crossfade option for samples very briefly but that option has never showed up. Some of my multi-samples I want to loop when I hold a key down, but it is abrupt and jarring the moment when the loop repeat happens and it needs a crossfade so the loop isn't obvious.

Post

1.) sure, just go to SYS page and set DK midi note stops sample to OFF

2.) when importing a oneshot sample (drag and drop into an OSC window) you have several loop options, incl "xfade"
importing multisamples: there is no internal looping inside Avenger, you have to externally loop them and save in the wav files (for example I use Wavelab)

Hmmmm, maybe I'm not explaining my idea correctly, or not understanding what you're saying. I'm *already* looping a multi-sample right now. I change the start and end points, and it loops between these points over and over as long as I'm holding a key down.

My issue is that every time the loop resets there's no crossfade, or not enough of a crossfade, and I can audibly hear where the loop begins each time.

Thank you for the help!

Post

you have several loop options, incl "xfade"
did you try that? Could you make a screenshot of your loop page?

Is it just me or Avenger v1.4.10 was removed from accounts? Tried to install Avenger on my laptop and couldn't find the no CodeMeter installer.

I don't see it in mine either.

^Thanx for checking, zvenx!

So, yet another lovely surprise from VS? :(

Post

Most welcome.
I would hope/imagine that support can resend you.
But indeed if the bold claim has been if you don't like codemeter you can stick with 1.4, seems odd to then remove 1.4 from our account.
I have mine backed up locally but still..

I'm still on 10.4.8 and don't regret it at all.

I only regret that the old version isn't in my account when I need it...
