I think im having drum hit sample issues

Hi,

Well I just feel that I have so many drum samples, but none of them really stand out. Like when I listen to albums like "Curve" in Doppelganger, I just am like ... How do they have such solid drums? What am I missing out on? I feel that most of my drum hits are so shallow sounding... I have thousands of them I've collected from the net... I don't know, I can never find any good tambourine hits either. Help anyone? Anything? My drums sound like theyre from the 80's or something, except worse.

Their stuff sounds good because they take whatever sound and play with it until it does...

less time d/loading more time experimenting?
