Hey,
I've been running the first SampleTank Free with no problems for a long time, now I decided to check out the 2nd version. With one problem. No sound.
Using Logic 5.5 on WinME:
Installed VST only, chose my VST directory, and chose my ST2 directory (not the default). Downloaded the instuments, unzipped them the the instruments sub-dir of the ST2 directory.
Ran Logic, registered, following the directions, all went well.
Restarted the host, loaded the plugin, instruments are showing up fine. I can click them and they appear on the list on the left. Using keys through Logic or the supplied keyboard underneath, it seems to be triggering the selected instrument(lights show, etc). Volume, velocity settings are normal, but no audio is coming out.
STFree (the first one) is still working fine, and everything else in ST2Free is working, just no output to the channel. I've tried different instruments, different channels in Logic, still nothing!
I've looked through the FAQ and searched these forums to no avail.
Someone help, or, more likely, show me up for the fool I am by telling me to unmute it or something stupid along those lines(it ain't that, BTW).
Thanks
Mike

Hello. I had exactly the same problem. And the problem is that you're running on Windows ME. You can only run Sampletank 2 on Windows 2000 and XP. I upgraded to XP, and the demo works fine now.
Just curious... when I was operating in ME, none of the instruments were audible, except the SR Guitar SuperStack where it made some strange high pitched noise. Does yours do the same?
