Probably not your cup of tea, but I heard this, this morning and quite liked it.briefcasemanx wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:46 pm Everything I hear from this (which hasn't been a ton) sounds like weird alien sounds that seem suitable for psychedelic or new age music. I remember liking abssynth back in the day so I want to like this. And I like collecting vst synths. Are there any preset demos or songs someone can link to that feature more than just alien string plucks?
but yes maybe too much alien string plucks for you

Another reason I just bought it today was that I had a kind of "oooohhh" feeling when I customised one of the default presets and found out that Plasmonic can morph almost great as Sculpture but you just need to use more modulations for this kind of sounds. And when we talk about sound which are alive and react in wonderful ways to even subtle changes and when you play it live, tweak knobs, sliders, use MPE....THIS IS IT!
It took some time but now I think I will love it....when I could download and use it. Seems I have to wait for next weekend.

Strange. I saw no complaints at all. Other sites (no cache) are ok ?Cinebient wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:25 pm O.k. I just bought it to support this kind of instrument and hopefully I will not regret it.
Their server is a joke, 1kb/s...Not a great start.
Edit: Even hangs. Well, really not a good start here.

Everything good with my net, in the meantime I downloaded some GB of other things, watch Netflix in 4K and my wife is playing PS4 online. Of course I tried to just download this single 50 MB without anything else but it does not matter.p1afff wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:23 pmStrange. I saw no complaints at all. At least something happens again, I am now at a whooping 5 MB after 2 hours or so.
But I can tell you if it ends after hours with a crash I will go mad

Several times.
And now after 2 hours it crashed. So I guess I have to wrote to support.
Damn, these days it got really worse with software bugs, downloads, updates etc.
Maybe I reconsider hardware

If you really like physical modeling and appreciate the subtle nuances and like organic sounds that could be from some exotic acoustic instrument, then this synth is excellent. From that standpoint, a no brainer purchase imo.
The ability to fine tune a sound is precise with deep modulation possibilities. Whether for MPE or regular midi controllers, one can make expressive sounds that are musical and pleasing.
It's a speciality synth, not a workhorse.

Plasmonic can do lots of different percussion, drums, basses, plucks, wind instruments. It can sound realistic. By realistic I mean one is not quite sure what the sound source is. It can have a lovely organic quality.briefcasemanx wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:46 pm Everything I hear from this (which hasn't been a ton) sounds like weird alien sounds that seem suitable for psychedelic or new age music. And this was the endorsement that took me over to buy
It downloaded in seconds for me, for both mac and pc.
