Consolidating tracks is handy and if you buy the all plugins pack on sale it's advantageous. At least, the instruments do not use very much cpu and you can dash other instruments in there with it to add flavor.

All in all I think there's better but it gets the job done and I find the workflow fast end tolerable.

Other than some nonsensical claims in your post, this should be Image-Line's company motto ;)

1) Logic
2) FL Studio
3) Reaper (with the FL Studio Beta 4 theme)
4) Reaper (with the Logic 3.80 theme)
5) Cakewalk By Bandlab
6) Reason Studio's Reason
7) Universal Audio Luna

then not sure after that. Wouldn't put Ableton in the top 10.
Best looking for who?? Since when a DAW needs to look good? Does NASA choose their equipment based on look as well?

Do DAWs qualify to Miss Universe nowadays? 😊

"Best looking DAWs" is a funny topic to me because they look much more similar than different. Use a DAW because you like its workflow/UI.

Why would you want to stare at something for hours on end that looks uninspiring and not graphically wow when you don't have to? You work in projects for hours, it matters or certainly it does to me.

You could have 2 cars - both are the same price, both have zero miles on the clock, both do the same top speed, both the same size and capacity, both have the same break horsepower, both as comfortable as each other and do the same miles per gallon on fuel and both have the same functions on the dashboard etc. One looks like a right banger and the other like a Ford GT, which one would sell the most? lol!

I've heard it was voted best looking DAW by the national society of accountants :hihi:

My point was that it is pointless to make a best looking DAW list because these things are so subjective and personal.

To me it does not need to look ‘good’. It needs to look inspirational. It needs to give me fun when working with it and this could be something ugly but still somewhat inspirational.

Best example is Logic. It looks neat on paper. But to me it is so boring to use. Whereas Pro Tools is more like using a video game, more fun. It is different for everyone.

Sorry for the rant. I always go sensitive about best looking/beautiful because it really is so subjective.

Like the best looking woman.. Your list would definitely differ from mine because you are not me. And if both lists started with my wife, then you would be in big trouble! :D

Anyway using a DAW should be fun. The short keys, the controls etc should become second nature so that the tool is not in your way and it’s just a flawless process creating noise. I made the mistake decades ago to choose something that looked beautiful in a magazine and wasted years of fun in my life. Try all and the one that feels like a ‘video game’, that is the one! Don’t necessarily apply this method to women! 😂 Leaving this here as my wise advise of the day.

At this point I cant imagine that there is a "best" DAW.
Everyone's brain is different.
Some people are more logical, other more intuitive so its really just a matter of what works for you.

That is accurate!

I always thought logical equals intuitive in most cases.

In terms of DAW's, I would rather use different terms. I think all the DAW's try to be logical/intuitive. It's more a matter of how you want to work. Although I must admit that I don't find DAW's like Live or Bitwig intuitive at all. Rather because I'm not used to such a workflow though, probably.
