Looking for lost DX7 patch "MUTEGTR"

I'm trying to find a DX7 patch from a television score I grew up with. I know the patch is called MUTEGTR (spelled exactly like that) and I know it had to have existed before at least 1992, likely much earlier. I've seen an old printout of the composers TX816 banks, and it's clear they were a hodgepodge of patches from all over the place. Some patches he had show up again and again in the banks floating around today, others including MUTEGTR just don't. So I'm lead to believe MUTEGTR originated from a bank shared on Usenet or similar that, for whatever reason, wasn't widely archived.
A search on patches.fm brought up nothing. Since that data pool isn't the end-all-be-all, I've checked literally thousands of DX7 banks manually, and MUTEGTR wasn't in any of them. So if anybody happens to recognize or remember MUTEGTR, or has banks from Usenet that aren't from the 1989 USC archive, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not looking for patches that are similar, or have a similar vibe, I'm only interested in the actual MUTEGTR patch.
I've linked some clips from the show audio for reference (I hope linking to discord files is ok). MUTEGTR is the bouncy sound that plays on the offbeats.

I sort of wonder if it's related to the Mute Gtr preset in the DX11 factory banks - it does sound somewhat different to my ears, but there might be an effect or layered sound fooling me.
Good luck even if that's a red herring.

I know I had that at one time. I used a TX802 as I used a MIDI guitar as a controller.
But I believe TX802 patches are compatible with a DX7. I owned all the old Yamaha
"black box" hardware synths and several 4op keyboards like the YS200 & DX21 but
I got rid of all the hardware years ago. I converted all the patches I used to NI's FM8
format. I just looked but didn't see that one. Not surprising tho....being a guitar player
I rarely used guitar patches.
Patchman still sells a TX802 bank that includes that patch:

I picked up that bank and it's nowhere close unfortunately. Their patch is also called "Mute Gtr." whereas the one I'm after is called "MUTEGTR". Given the other known patches in his bank weren't renamed, I'm fairly sure this name and format are original.CapnLockheed wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 8:12 pm Patchman still sells a TX802 bank that includes that patch:

If you have a backup anywhere of the patches you didn't convert, I'd love to take a look.

Not those either, unfortunately. Names aren't the exact format and the sound isn't close.

well, I tried to search on bobby blues All Patches zip and it's not there.
Used this tool to try to find it:
https://github.com/biocommando/dx7-patch-explorer
(a bit hackish, but seems to work well).
There's some patches with similar names (MUTEGUIT 3, MUTEGUIT 1, etc) on file SynLib_263.syx and on SynLib_264.syx) from the SynLib DX_TX (Marc Bareille).zip on Bobby Blues site.

The MUTEGTR patch haunts every DX7 owner who didn't back up before the battery died.
It's in the original ROM1A bank - if you need the raw sysex, can dump it from my DX7. But seriously, this thread is a reminder to backup BEFORE the battery warning.
