Quite a story how severe one factory lost in fire can be. Remarkable that this size of factory can be shut down like this.

Sabotage?
I mean a fire must have been started at many places at once, I assume.
And a lot of it offices probably.

I've been hunting the Polybrute and found a place said to have in stock last monday, and had it ordered a week before that. I had to cancel it - nobody knows when it actually is available. Just keep moving shipping dates. Even Arturia have been later to update estimated delivery. In november they said while most stores said january for a good while.

Now Arturia said end of january - I wonder?

Most places still say february and such, which seems optimistic. I talked to some folks in contact with swedish distributor and said june.

Must be a blow on top of everything else for Arturia and many I gather. Really counting on some revenue from investments by now.

I’d hope that something they expect to be hitting stores at the end of this month would not be affected by that disaster, but I imagine it will hurt future products. I think our PolyBrute wait is just garden variety pandemic issues. I’ve made peace with not getting it until sometime before summer. I’m plenty busy with what I have anyway, and I definitely can make great sounds.

The fire mainly affected interfaces and converters, AFAIK.

Delays for new products are pretty standard. I imagine the PolyBrute isn't much different to manufacture than the MatrixBrute, maybe it's the expression controller that's holding it up.

Another reason for delays might be that many borders are closed, non-essential workers (such as those who design and manufacture synths and audio gear) are asked to stay at home, economies are in ruins and millions are dying globally.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Nope, dont make assumptions like that. Reality is more prosaic than that (and its lean into the suggestion of deliberate sabotage.)

Back in the eighties, I spent about a year working on fire-spread analysis software; didnt understand the maths, I was porting the code. However my bosses were fire engineers, specialists in this stuff. And I did pick up some generalities. One thing I do know is that fire spread is complex. Vents and airflow systems, for example, contribute to fire spread through a building even where there isnt necessarily that much flammable material. Fire likes airflow.
Also think about what's flammable that webs right through a building; cables, insulation, plastic conduits etc.

There's no need to wave on the idea of this being an 'exceptional' result.

The biggest reason for delay of shipping, or unavailability of hardware is Corona at the moment. PC hardware or consoles aren't available either.

Making LSI chips I am thinking
- dustfree invironments and people in white coats
- computers everywhere
- rigorous fire security to guard equipment

I worked in a computer center in the 80's and we even did tests drills holding matches at heat sensors and smoke sensors and things - to stop everything in case of fire.

So much intellectual property to protect.

Offices I can imagine with all paper and crap people have around.
Dustfree environment is rather different.
Just looking at these pics made me think it was exceptional.

The addition of product links on this forum makes stuff seem a bit weird sometimes. :D

I ordered a Minilogue XD for a friend on Dec 21 and... last I heard the ETA for any stock from Korg might be the end of Jan. Maybe.

Separately, I’d love to upgrade my old video card from 4+ years ago..........

We have a Minilogue XD Module in stock. We've been waiting for the keyboards for a while.

The cost of shipping containers has increased from £1500 to £10,000, so may make some items more expensive (unless businesses want to take a loss ) & contribute to delays :(

And where are you getting those figures exactly lol.
I have a ton of stuff from Nvidia cards to RME interfaces on order, all are delayed because of Corina Virus, no mattr how much China pretends they have no issue, their infrastructure is decimated right now.
