Disclaimer - I already purchased Logic Pro for $218 after tax so my bias is recusing my cast here

However, despite logic having full DAW capability, I’ve read so many users revert to GarageBand

Some instances was because of updates from iOS and OS X catalina. It beyond that, what appeals to serious producers to leave what Is arguably the best DAW for Mac ever made.....I

I like it for iOS to OS X work. ; beyond that, I’m so impressed with logic 10.6 I’m surprise less people love it then expected

What’s your thoughts fellow Apple heads? Lol

Think premise of your thread is false or exaggerated.

For sure there's folks who returned to something they are used to after getting overwhelmed with something else, but just because few of them are vocal about it, doesn't mean they make more than percentage, especially so called "serious" folks, reasoning you mention just doesn't play along with "serious" mindset.

I didn’t actually go back, but I did play with the idea and revert for an hour or so. No way. Too many useful features missing.

I respect that

However, I will say, for example, once you start learning Cubase, other DAWs fall short of its power and capabilities

So out of respect for you, allow me to correct the premise that sounds diminutives ....I didn’t mean it was for less able or talented people

I meant the software itself was very basic, as Joni said

Less can be more, as long as the less includes what you need.

You’re so right.

That’s why I was trying to articulate it was for the more advanced leaning producer

Another e.g. you can use audacity on desktop or GarageBand on iOS . But then if you get Cubase (or ableton live which is just as packed as cubase Pro, but again Cubase power is it’s coding and engine) on desktop or even reaper....and then take it to iOS and get auria Pro....well the differences are night and day - power and ability , engine and coding

The cost is Auria Pro and cubase are very hard to use, And I admit I’m a novice with them, but I move up from the basic DAWs for A-Z fully self contains 64 bit mixing and mastering

However, as Jacobi said. Use what you need, which is why my “downgrade” to Logic Pro from Cubase 10.5 Pro isn’t really that.

Thanks for replies guys

That's not entirely true, Cubase got some nifty solutions, but it's not that superior compared to Logic, Reaper, Digital Performer, Studio One, Samplitude and etc.

At this point, I don't think I know what this thread is really about, dunno, people use whatever suits them the most, just because DAW X is packed with features, doesn't mean it's actually better fit for everything and everyone and that everything besides it is downgrade, workflow and preferences differ.

I don't feel I downgraded to Bitwig after years of using Cubase and Logic, maybe on paper it does less than them, but in practice it works the most for me and my way of working.

Apparently it's about the elusive 'coding advantage' of Cubase, which makes people downgrade from Logic to Garageband
