Traktor and OBS for livestream

Hi guys

I'm trying to get traktor to work with OBS but proving very difficult.

There's an ASIO plugin for OBS (OBS alone doesn't support ASIO), but that ASIO plugin doesn't have a loopback system, meaning it won't catch whatever internal audio is playing in the computer.

There are 3rd party applications (virtual cables) like Jack, which are working to getting audio into OBS, but that way I have to assign Jack as an audio device in traktor, losing my capability to get a headphone mix in traktor. (I use a Xone K2 as an audio device and midi controller).

So stuck really. Anyone with advice or experience with it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Dany

I've never used Traktor, but does it support WASAPI (i.e. Windows' low-level drivers)? For me OBS only records the sound from a DAW when I'm using that driver, so I assume it would be similar.

WASAPI (non-exclusive) worked for me. Is there a particular reason why you need ASIO? Personally I didn't played with OBS during live stream but I didn't heard any complains like 'too much latency' from fellow DJs who were playing with WASAPI set by me.

Hi there, thanks,

Yes it does but when I use wasapi or WDM I can only output audio on 1 stereo channel, for some reason it doesn't detect that the K2 has another channel for a headphones mix.. so back to square one.

Could it be related to the K2 drivers? (I have tried on 2 different driver versions, same thing)

Like I said on WASAPI only had 1 stereo channel output, it didnt detect a headphone output too. Maybe I should make it exclusive? How did you go on about that BTW? Sound settings?

I'm on windows 10 btw

No, Exclusive mode will disable audio in every other app like ASIO do.

Kill me but I don't remember which controller was used.
Master Out from mixer controller was going to audio interface input (Focusrite Scarlett) and OBS was recording that input. We had a lot of trouble to find a working solution ;)

Headphone/Cue Output worked as intended in controller. Now I'm waiting for Kontrol Z1 to arrive, probably next week. Until that time I can't really try by myself on new PC (I hope I'll not have a bad surprise with Cue Output  this time).

I sure hope you won't run into that issue if you're livestreaming. but I see what you did. You used a different interface for OBS. Smart. I got my Motu ultralite mk4 for that reason but my K2 controller/interface only outputs RCA, so either I'm going to have to get an adapter, which sucks, or I'm going to need to find some solution.

Cant believe something so simple could be complicated lol.. anyway let's see if someone might have a straightforward approach.

Thank you
