Has anyone yet used the new Bosendorfer 290 compatible with Kompakt...? I have a Muse Research Receptor and and looking to see if the Bosendorfer successfully plays within the Kompakt architecture... the pianos that Kompakt comes with are mediocre at best. Thanks for the feedback.

That sample lib is programmed in kontakt, so it supposed plays fine in kompakt.
I used it fine in kompakt here. Talking about the sample lib btw, not the version that comes with a kompakt player by itself.

To follow up on the previous poster, the versions that come with a dedicated Kontakt player use encrypted instrument files that can only be read using the latest version of Kontakt (1.5.3), and probably require a similarly updated version of Kompakt.

I recently bought the PMI Grandioso Bosendorfer 290 sample CDs for Exs 24 and it won't run on my mac yet as I only have 512MB. I'm going to ned about 2GB as that is the size of the library.
I'm not sure of the size of your library, but I'd say get as much ram in that Muse Receptor as possible!

A little off topic, but look at the bigger picture here. Why use a piano sample in a sampler in a hardware host? For all that bother, you might as well just buy a piano, or at least borrow one.

This Bosendorfer is a $75,000 piano. Treating a room to record such a thing will not be cheap either.zircon wrote:A little off topic, but look at the bigger picture here. Sure you can buy a piano, but you will spend a lot before you approach anything that sounds like this.
