"Audacity" can load VST-plugins and it can import midi-files.

Not at all! It has a clean UI but lots of features when you open the devices, tabs, menus, sequencers, and modules that are all tightly connected, e.g. drop a sample in and use it in dozens of different places.

I totally lack coding skills, which makes me uniquely qualified to make a DAW that has no features, not even a UI. It'll be subscription-based ($500/month) and require both iLok and a Steinberg dongle. Taking preorders now.

But, serious answer is probably one of the intro versions of the major DAWs, like Live Lite?
