No, it means that the installer script has a specific command to install Lato at system level.

I looked everywhere on github but couldn't locate the zip file for portable installation. Is there one? Can someone provide a link please? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it seems like the envelope trigger lane in a sequencer will only work when the sequencer is in the first voice slot, is this just the way it works or is there a way to make a different voice slot trigger the envelopes?

That's the way it's always worked in the commercial version and it's mentioned in the manual (at least it was mentioned back in the day in the manual of the commercial version). You can copy a LFO/sequence from the slot it's in to slot 1 quite easily, hopefully that will get you the results you want.Ficciones wrote: Fri Jan 29, 2021 4:30 pm Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it seems like the envelope trigger lane in a sequencer will only work when the sequencer is in the first voice slot, is this just the way it works or is there a way to make a different voice slot trigger the envelopes?

Thanks for the quick response, that's fine, I just wanted to know if I was missing something. I had a look at the manual and I don't think it mentions this in the relevant section.Gone soft wrote: Fri Jan 29, 2021 5:04 pmThat's the way it's always worked in the commercial version and it's mentioned in the manual (at least it was mentioned back in the day in the manual of the commercial version). Oh wait hold onnnnn, I got triggers coming from the first and second voice seqs by editing the "game on 3" preset. This is cool because you can use it for ratcheting and trap sort of rhythms, and polyrhythmic / polymetric stuff. There must be an "add secret sauce" button that I'm missing out on.
edit: ah I get it now, the other voice sequencers will only generate triggers from the trigger lane after the modulation lane has been assigned to something. It can be at 0%, a dummy modulation, but the assignment has to be there. It's cool, you can get interesting effects with two gate sources running at different lengths with different speeds.

You can trigger envs from any of the 6 voice LFOs. That was an improvement we added vs the old commercial version.

Excellent, it's a great feature, but I could only get gates out of the second voice sequencer gate lane after adding a destination for the modulation lane. I'm just poking around in the dark here lol.EvilDragon wrote: Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:14 pm You can trigger envs from any of the 6 voice LFOs. I really thought I fixed that in 1.7 vintage. I’ll add your comment to github and confirm/fix or come back here.Ficciones wrote: Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:20 pmExcellent, it's a great feature, but I could only get gates out of the second voice sequencer gate lane after adding a destination for the modulation lane. Here's a simple patch where three voice step seqs are triggering envelopes...

Seems to work just fine over here.

Thank you baconpaul and EvilDragon!
EvilDragon: I looked your preset - I notice you have dummy mod routings in the sequencers, routed to osc pitch.
Oh look at that, it's so easy to copy version info from the plugin

Yeah you need to have those mod routings assigned somewhere. The sequencer won't retrigger envelopes if the modulator is not active, and for that you need to have at least one non-zero assignment.

You don't need a dummy mod on seq 1 though so you shouldn't need it on the others. It's a bit arbitrary.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Jan 30, 2021 1:41 pm Yeah you need to have those mod routings assigned somewhere.
