I mean why do you want to know this?
I'm sure that it's a take on the "Which DAW has the most features?" thread. ;)

Oh I see! Good, I was kinda getting puzzled there for a second.

Is feature bloat an issue with some daws?
Is that what this is about?

How do some features distract or get in the way of its/your intended purpose?

Just curious.

Yes, definitely. It's one of the reasons why I dropped Cubase in favour of Studio One, among other things, of course.

I think it's more of a joke. :) I don't think anyone would pick his DAW for a lack of features.

That's also why I found the other thread puzzling. Just like I don't think anyone would pick a DAW for lack of features, I'm sure noone would pick a DAW, just because it has the most features, because, it really depends which features you want in a DAW, and which workflow you prefer.

For merely informative reasons, sure, it might be interesting to know which DAW has the most features, but, apart from that...

Yes, that what it is, i thought it was kinda fun for a moment.

But if actually there is a free or dirt cheap daw having only the necessary minimum features to sketch some track ideas I may look into it.

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Well, you know that most DAWs have a free/cheap & less-featured version, even Pro Tools. Take your pick.

Bitwig 8-Track is pretty limited. It's pretty sucky as well though. :P

In this thread we don't call it sucky, we call it 'least featured' :hihi:

Since we're still semi-serious about the question: Mixbus probably would fit that bill. There's essentially nothing there other than a digital model of a Harrison mixer and VST/LV2 hosting but it's not a stripped down version of anything, it's minimalist by design.

Well, than it would be Ardour, that'S the same, but without an analog Harrison emulation ;)
