Does anyone know the name of, or know where I can find the name of this tune? http://www.finebalance.oneuk.com/classical.mp3

Its been used on numerous pop and dance tracks in recent years.

I've just finised a track which is also influenced by this tune so I'm interested to know what it is. . .

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Erik Satie's "Gymnopedie #1." It's a walking around tune.

It's Erik Satie's Gymnopedie. :)

Satie? :o So it's a 'non classical' classic. I would have identified it as The Modern Jazz Quartet (Milt Jackson & Co.)
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Your instincts are good. I've heard at least two jazz adaptations of it, both verrry nice. Not sure who did them, sorry.

Meffy
exactly.

however Satie's original version was written for piano solo. so this might be the jazz quartet whatever version. :?:

Eric Satie is a french composer from early XX century.

I believe Blood Sweat and Tears (a band from the 60s) did a cover of that song.
