Thanks Richard :tu:

Actually I'm trying to make a preset without any oscillator, using only the noise as an exciter, and making it ring through the comb filter, as to make some guitar type physical modeling. Comb Delight RH uses an Osc as the sound source so I guess it's different.

I'm doing it this way, but the pitch doesn't follow well the notes (let's say I play C3 on the keyboard, I hear a C3, but when I play C4, I hear a B3 - that's not the actual notes, but took it as an example to illustrate what I mean)

Would still love a browser like uhe synths have. ( please don’t say use nks)

Other than that, Dune 3 is incredible.

A developer will really have to consider the cost to benefit ratio of continuing to fix issues that Apple breaks. Would it be ok for these devs to start charging for updates for such things?
Everyone hates the Waves WUP but you will start to see this more and more, especially for the Apple versions of products.
i've been on macs since 2000, and i update when updates happen (am on the beta program). and sometimes there are issues, and often... not.

advancing tech is heading into uncharted territory, and, in my experience, apple does this pretty well. and personally, i enjoy the adventure forward.

now, back to discussing dune 3, one of my fave synths; am checking out the new features today, am excited about... tech moving forward. :tu:

yes, it's awful that apple continually advances the tech; why can't things be like they were in 2003? :D

i for one am excited about moving to the new architecture; new speed, better ram management. some of us don't fear change, progress.

tech moving forward... is a good thing.

Ok - but I guess they will also be considering the performance improvements that appear to be possible within the new architecture and that fact that many Mac users will probably move to M1 at some point, although I have no plans immediately I am excited about the reports I'm hearing of the benefits.

i have no idea how to do that anymore anx, way over my head complicated. all you have to do is load the gray skin in reaper. and it's obvious even in that little demo dude posted that it doesn't find the loop.

Ermmmmm.....yes. I agree. That’s why I said the architecture change to M1 makes sense and is a good reason to break things for once.

The OS changes that break things make far less sense to me.

I found this as well yesterday. I was going to report it to the beta forum today, but too late.

I'm still working out the best settings, but I find adding these to the mod matrix gets things in tune a bit more:

Keytrack +20 Filter 1 Keytrack
Constant -1 or -2 Filter cutoff

Note that I'm using single wave cycles from wavetables in one shot mode and with init phase = 0 rather than noise.

Great update! Was wishing for sample support in Dune 3, and here it is! Thanks!

I have couple of FR's, though.

1. cross-fade looping,
2. Alternate looping (forward - backwards),
3. Undo in the sample editor,
4. Non destructive trim feature,
5. Sample preview when loading samples,
6. Drag and drop support for sample loading,
7. Unisono features for samples (it can be done with additional voices - I know).

Thanks!

It makes a big difference, very nice thanks!

And at the same time, thanks to you I discovered what one-shot mode is for :tu:

Hopefully the keytracking gets fixed so that we don't have to use these tricks.

OS changes are designed to move things forward, and that often incurs a cost. but, in my own experience, many mac OS changes have happened with minimal or no major issues, and i've continued to work (in logic) since 2009. i wouldn't trade that for a 'safer' environment; progress is exciting

it's not progress if things get worse, and they only do it to keep you buying in.

Maybe but this time its really a big step forward (at least for me). These little M1 are a big step forward compared to all my other intel laptops I had.
Of course there is some trouble here and there but for me personally everything got better (beside some exceptions).
I mean 99% of my intel tools just run on my M1 without I have to do anything.
I can run dozens of Dune 3 instances with audio rate modulations going on and this is nice.

Mac OS has been free for how long now?
And are things getting worse with them?
Not my experience.

then i guess it's a good thing that things get better; i wouldn't trade big sur (for example), for the OS from 2009, or 2012, or. and the new chips are amazing, so the future looks good for macusers.

but... a corporation that wants you to buy things? unbelievable...

VSTi 3 version loads fine in Reaper here on Windows 10 including the new Gray skin. I use the Large skins at 1920x1080 monitor resolution. Do you have a screenshot ? It helps to have the plugin Window Floated but I find that with any plugin in Reaper.

On the subject of Auto Loop it works here but of course it doesn't always find perfect loops. I assume we're talking about "Find Loop Region".
