It's the new soundset to show off the new featureset in Dune 3.4. The sounds are lofi almost like they're coming from a vintage rompler. Might not be to everyone's tastes but it's a nice change from the usual Trance and EDM demos.

Exactly, soundsets (and soundset demos) are always a matter of taste, and we wanted to have something different here, since we have released quite a few EDM sets already. Note the Metropolis set is made by the same author as World of Ambient, which was a very successful set. The patches have the same high quality with plenty of modulation options as World of Ambient, so we'll see what happens

VSTi 3 version loads fine in Reaper here on Windows 10 including the new Gray skin. I use the Large skins at 1920x1080 monitor resolution. Do you have a screenshot ? It helps to have the plugin Window Floated but I find that with any plugin in Reaper.

On the subject of Auto Loop it works here but of course it doesn't always find perfect loops. I assume we're talking about "Find Loop Region".

i can't right now, but that is odd, because i'm using the latest windows ten, and everything. might be a pixel count thing, or driver thing. i'll have to work on getting you one later today. i'll be back later.

Because I need the flexibility to run both Intel and M1 code on the same Mini for the forseable future. I'm hardly alone in this. I use both Logic, which is M1 native, and Ableton and Bitwig, which are not.

The performance of many of my plugins running under Rosetta 2 exceeds the performance I get on my Intel Macs. So in most cases it is not "much worse." It is at worst break even, and at best better than the same code running on all but the highest end Intel Macs. Take a look at the results that U-He reports with Diva if you don't believe me. There's a sticky thread in their forum.

Because Dune 3 is not a universal binary, if I install the M1 build, I cannot us the AU in anything but Logic. When you release the VST2 and VST3 native binaries, it will be worse, since I won't even have the ability to run VSTs in any DAW running under Rosetta2 because you can't have both the Intel and AS Dune 3 binaries installed on the same system for the same plugin type.

Given the excellent performance of so many plugins under Rosetta2, it makes perfect sense to release UB2 versions of one's plugins, so that this flexibility is possible. The same plugin can run in any DAW. It will run just fine in an Intel DAW, and even better in an AS DAW. This is why all the (other) plugin makers are building universal binaries.

And, no offense, but you do not know when there will be Apple Silicon builds of any of the major DAWs. In all likelihood, we won't see an updated Ableton build for at least a year. S1 will certainly take longer. We are in for a fairly extended transition period. Please reconsider.

so you have more info than a dev? how did you get that info, or is it guess work?

I installed the intel and ARM version just fine here on my M1.
But I also find 2 versions useful since some plug-ins still need to run under Logic Rosetta and do not work in the native version (even if Logic also here try to translate it).
Indeed, as with some other plug-ins the Touch Bar do not like the native version and I see just sliders without any description. Under Rosetta it works fine.
So there are still benefits for both versions, even on an M1 machine for now.
Indeed I mainly use Logic under Rosetta instead of the native version since there is less trouble.

That´d be great. But which sounds do you speak of? And which of all those pretty different sounding ROMplers do you think of? Or is it because some pads are straight?

The file size of patches with samples indicates that the files are saved insides the container, right?

So If i switch to the dark skin, it loads fine, and then i switch the gray skin, it will also load fine, but as soon as I close the plugin gui, and then open it back up...it does this again.

Something is definitely wrong there. This is how the VST 3 looks here. Do you have any Windows Scaling or is it set to 100% ?
