I've done the research, I've seen the numbers. Great single core performance from the M1, lousy multi-core performance. How good it looks depends on which set of figures you want to quote. I never get tired of telling the truth, why would I?

3.4 is a great update. I was in the market for a sampler too, spending the last few days perusing the vst database here, then I get an email from Synapse Audio this morning.
The ghost function for looping works surprisingly well, and being able to run samples through Dune’s effects is going to be fun. I’m already trying to wrap my head around the sample layering possibilities.
Dune has been my favorite vst instrument for a while now, and now it’s even favoriter.

I don’t see the point of sampler implementation. I mean, its functionality so poor and practically useless. Am I missing something?
Of course, I respect Richard’s work, Dune sound engine and stability is among the best but User Experience always been the weakest side of Dune, in my opinion. New sampler is something that I totally can’t understand...for what? Just for the sake of new feature?

To expand the range of sounds Dune 3 can make simple as that. Several other synths in DUNE 3's niche have single sample import so it's not an unheard of feature.Dombaeb wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 12:51 am I don’t see the point of sampler implementation. Now we all wish that multi-sample import was added such as the .sfz format but that's not likely to happen so we make the best of what we're given.
Just takes a little imagination to find use for the new Sample Osc. The feature is not at all useless here...far from it.....

just so everyone knows, the M1 is their mobile processor, developed for the ipad and upgraded for the macbook, and then propagated to the rest. that's why it needs special code. it's not as hot because it's a low power processor, and they did it because intel going quantum computing .

I don't mind the basic sample import function, I really just which we could change the start time of the sample that we import

Not sure where people get their research but the M1 is way more powerful than any i7 in a laptop so far and stays cool, silent and runs circles in terms of battery life.
Whatever. Use what you want, believe what you want. Just have fun using Dune 3.
This updates make Dune 3 just better and for free, so nothing to complain.

Perhaps the Apple users should buy "normal" PCs in the future, instead of crying and complaining again and again, if good programmed software just makes "problems" on Apple crap hardware! 25 years ago I worked in a graphic studio and they paid nearly 1.000.000 Euro (Deutsche Mark) for their Apple hardware and at this time, everybody praised Apple as the ultimate technology, but that was long ago. Meanwhile Apple is just design crap with dated and poor hardware! And it's really a pity, that the thumbs down feature here is gone!

Actually you can do that using constant to osc3 init phase modulation in the modulation matrix.Saukar30 wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 2:44 am I don't mind the basic sample import function, I really just which we could change the start time of the sample that we import

That's very upsetting to hear. I wish there would be at least ability to favourite patches or simple browser like in phase plant/avenger/rapid where you can do basic things in 1 window.BONES wrote: Sat Jan 30, 2021 11:14 pmDon't hold your breath. I complain about it on every beta cycle but get shouted down by the sound designers who never actually make any music, so it's not likely to improve. I've given up on DUNE betas. I downloaded the first couple in this cycle but realised that it is so long since I used DUNE for anything that I can't see the point in bothering to test it any more.accessdune3 wrote: Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:58 pmBut in honestly I would trade all those for a better preset management

Sorry but no. Komplete kontrol it's such a resource hungry thing it makes Dune 3 LOW CPU feature unexist.AnX wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 8:57 amaccessdune3 wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 7:13 amThat's very upsetting to hear. Fine by me (although not everyone) but in that case, if this function is going to be delegated to Komplete Kontrol, NKS export for the add-on and third party banks would be essential in order to keep them all organised as well.AnX wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 8:57 amaccessdune3 wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 7:13 amThat's very upsetting to hear.
