@Photonic - great track. Great sound design. I decided to try to use most of the old hardware I still had in cupboards! Trying to show that I could make a track without any ITB FX. It was hard work thinking about it, routing it and executing it. But, I had fun, which this track shows you did too.

Hardware? I really wanted to go for hardware but due to some bad timing on failing bits and pieces I've got some expensive repairs ahead of me... Annoyingly, my romplers all work fine.
So, software it is. My first ever synth was a Yamaha DX21. Amazing thing, got it second hand with no manual. I had no idea how it worked and there was no internet in those days. You moved numbers around on the screen and it made excellent noises. And I mean all of the noises it made were excellent. I loved it. It stank of cigarettes and it had a flight case that was lined with the softest purple plush fabric I ever laid fingers on. No velocity sensitivity though, so eventually I traded it in for a Boss Dr Synth and a Cheetah 7VA master keyboard with a Roland MC-300 thrown in for free.
I only got the DX21 because I'd hired a DX7 a couple of times but I couldn't afford one. Always wanted a DX7, never got round to getting one. The emulations are good though, Dexed et al, although none of them feel quite the same as prodding those green buttons, sliding those sliders and squinting at that 16 x 2 LCD. I went with the Arturia DX7-V this time out because it was an option and I like the GUI. None of it's extras were used though, none of the FX, no filter.
Anyway, enough nostalgia, hope you enjoy this little thing and good luck to everyone this month.

This is the most CPU-hungry vsti I know. I played every part in an M1 korg. I would copy on the Repro 5 track and freeze the track. I could finally listen to the result. Only for the OSC can I do that. (҂◡_◡)

I haven't tried my hand at this in awhile but I figured I'd give it a shot this month.
I don't really use much hardware so I figured Id go the emulation route like most here have.
I chose Synapse Audio's Legend (Minimoog Model D emu in case you are a recently thawed caveman
).
I may re-upload if I get a wild urge to fiddle with the mix/master some more but probably not.
I'll update this with plugin usage stats later but its all The Legend and stock and freeware effects used lightly here and there.
I hope you enjoy it.
https://soundcloud.com/localmanmakesmus ... almidnight
Update:
DAW: Logic Pro
Legend x 53
(Probably have half that number of unique patches though because I duplicate tracks for arrangement and mixing purposes.)
Logic FX:
Channel EQ x 59
Compressor x 3
Gain x 7
Echo x 1
Chromaverb x
Stereo Spread x 1
Space Designer x 3
3rd Party Freeware FX:
MJUCjr x 2
VOS Slick EQ x 4
Nova x 1
Kotelnikov x 3
NC-17 x 1

What a fun month! I dug out all my old hardware synth (CZ-101), dusted it all down, took it all apart and replaced batteries, fixed a broken pot on a BOSS effects rack set it all up and didn't even bother using it!
Was already too committed to making something with Cherry Audio's ARP 2600 - hoping to own a clone one day.
