If you select a preset, close and re-open the window, then click the arrow, you'll find yourself back to the first preset in the list.
i think it only works when you open the preset browser, and stops working when you click somwhere else.

I was curious to try it after seeing so positive reviews. I wasn't expecting much, but really it is a quality product. It is on par with Serum and a real competitor. I thought it would be something like Pigments, but to me, Vital's sound has much more details and crisper than Pigments. Congratulations to the developer(s) on this excellent synth :)

I tried the free version and felt it is a crime to use the free version and not paying for it! So, I purchased the Plus version.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Is anyone else noticing very obvious and unpleasant stepping artifacts when manually scanning through a wavetable with mouse?

It's not present when modulating with any mod source like envelopes of LFOs, so the final sounds I make are OK, but it's really annoying when I'm creating a patch and scanning through tables to find the right timbres and sweet spots!

Yes, noticed that. But it makes sense as the lfo's are fully predictable and smoothing be done in advance. Our mouse though is not. Maybe it will eat too much resources with live adjustment

Post

maybe the values sent from mouse movment have some jumps.

if you move wt position with 8 sec up down ramp it plays like a sample. with moving start and top point quickly adapt wich part is played how fast in wich direction.

Finally got around to trying the free version. Wow ... awesome synth. I'm really impressed with the quality of the effects & presets. :tu:

If you edit the wavetable (with the pencil icon) you will see that the default setting is "None" (NO morphing between the waves inside a wavetable). Change it for "Spectral blend" or any of the other modalities and you will notice that the scanning between waves is smoother.

Some people have reported a lot of lagging with the VST3 on cubase on mac. Is that your setup?

Has there been any news on a possible Mac M1 ARM version of Vital?

As far as I can see, it now comes with the work offline option (which seemingly does what it says).

That's good news indeed.

Hi Matt, no I'm using the VST2 version on Windows 10. I'll record a short screencast and drop the link in the Discord.

Oh, Matt you're mad! I'm here to say thank you for your masterpiece! It's a synth of dreams, you made it happen and I can hardly believe it's actually here now. Very brave to make Xfer sweat :D.
We don't have to think twice, buy pro version and enjoy the best synth deal ever.
You are crazy! I like you!

PS: What about picture to wavetable (bottom to top = wave form, left to right = harmonics?)
Is something planned like this?

I know that sometimes plugins (in general) do that when controlling with the mouse, because it updates at a much slower rate. Does shortening your audio buffer change it all? A lot of Daws will only update parameter changes once per audio buffer, which has caused a lot of problems for me in the past.

Can't say ever noticed it the other synths I own like Hive, Serum or Phase Plant. Some users with onboard graphics have reported some issues but I have a dedicated PCIe GPU. I'll investigate the issue some more when I get the chance and report back to Matt.
