The browser isn’t just for preset users though.
If I make a bunch of sounds and save them i would like the ability to tag them etc and have them be searchable so I don’t have to try and remember what they were all about a year from now.
I have said it a few times already but the Uhe browser is exactly what I’m looking for.
Dune 3 sounds great ( as does Legend etc) but the browser really is clunky.
Not a showstopper, but definitely clunky.

You say 'pre-set users' likes its a bad thing, pre-set users are often musicians and song writers who just want to 'find a sound' and compose music or customise a sound to their needs. Why have pre-sets at all if you cant easily find what you are looking for (even the ones you made!)?GRUMP wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 2:36 pm And isn't it just the group of preset users that nags about the browser? Aren't sound Designers desires somehow more weighty?
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

there is 'revert' but it goes back to original sample, so you lose all the edits, not increments
undo would be more useful and more logical

I have made hundreds of patches for DUNE over the years. It helps to have good file management.canadian_moose wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:19 pm If I make a bunch of sounds and save them i would like the ability to tag them etc and have them be searchable so I don’t have to try and remember what they were all about a year from now.
Prefix Tag your patches like: ARP, BAS,LED,PAD,SEQ, etc. Only put 228 patches or fewer in a single folder and it will display horizontally, you can see all the patches at once. Any more than that and it will display vertically and you'll have to scroll.
Make a favorites folder like 00-Favorites so it shows at the top of the list and so on. Not perfect but workable.
And I never use all the fluff in U-He Browsers like little colored dots for favorites or categories etc.canadian_moose wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:19 pmI have said it a few times already but the Uhe browser is exactly what I’m looking for.
But even though I have no use for a Browser it's one of the most common feature requests I've seen for DUNE so I wouldn't be opposed to one being added.
I prefer development time be spent on features that expand the range of sounds D3 can make like sample import over features of convenience but really there's not much more that can be added to D3 at this point. Multi-sample import doesn't sound like it will happen, Layer Split Points doesn't seem like it can happen. Maybe 6 OP FM but that would probably take quite a bit of work. More of everything might be welcome, More LFO's ENV's ARP's etc.
So yea bring on a new browser if that's what people want even though I have no need for it....

I like the gui, I love the sound. Maybe the preset management could have been better but I am saving my favorites etc inside Cubase.

The preset browser doesn't need to be massively complex, just easy to use and effective like HY-Poly - https://hy-plugins.com/product/hy-poly/

as new owner of the d3 I find the new wave import nice, nothing new on the vst heaven but for adding/layers real drums & foleys, what u can hear in the new soundset video what I bought also, percussions, vocals, beach atmos, etc..

I assume that he´d gladly deliver tomorrow if it would be that easy.AnX wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 5:30 pm maybe if certain sound designers ask for it, he might do it, that seems to work for everything else....
Please s. o. correct me if I´m wrong - but I know back- and frontend development as two completely different skills. And aren´t frontends frequently affected by updates (like the last win update!) and in so far time consuming and risky from a companys perspective.?
To say it clearly: I have stopped dreaming. I work with what I have and Dune is aweseome. I know several synths that offer more like a great preset browser, but they are fails when it´s about quality. I own just one of them and the rest of my bunch ... I mean just look at Harmour. It doesn´t even display the filename - but it´s unique and sounds fine.
The sample import is a really big thing for me personally - round about > 100 GB are waiting for implementations - but it´s all multisamples. We´ll see now.

To have mentioned that:
- a root key would be great to evade irritations.
- it should be possible to display the whole fgilename somehow. The display doesn´t even display my date, source and pacthname informations.
