My entry. I used my old Korg Monotribe The first 'new' analog groovebox they released after the Monotron in about 2010 I think, before the Volcas and new Electribes that followed.
I got it 10 years ago but have never used it in a track. I got frustrated with the limitations of the sequencer, sound of the kick, and lack of midi to play the synth externally. So on the shelf it sat until this hardware OSC opportunity.
Everything was played live either using its inbuilt suquencer or on the ribbon pad with my fingers, tweaking the knobs at the same time. A bunch of takes have been comped in Ableton, but I've not used any loops.
First track I've ever made with no midi involved at all!
The kick is from the synth engine, not the inbuilt kick, played with the monotribe sequencer in a long take, like the other parts.
As the monotribe has such limited envelopes, to make some cymbal-ish sounds and bits of percussion, I did long takes of 'noisy stuff' and used DAW volume automation to produce the envelopes.
There's about 25 recordings used to make the arrangement.
Ableton reverb (x3), delay (1), compressors and eqs on each track, lots of utilities for volume automation, mixing and removing some annoying clicks in the recordings.
No third party or hardware fx.
Haven't listened to any other contributions yet, looking forward to it. Good luck all.

Hey everyone,
eventhough I had (still have) a pretty stressful month due to the end of the semester, i somehow finished my entry.
It´s the third abomination in my reverse-telled-fictious-videogame-ost-series (trademark).
I used the Roland D-50 Synthesizer (Built October 1987, purchased 2016/17?) for this.
Working with hardware without DAW implementation was pretty interesting - I wasn´t able to use my usual wrong workflow for OSC-s XD
I always wanted to make own Soundbanks for the D-50 - it´s really capable of doing some really unique sounds, but on my Notebook the D50 Librarian always crashed, so I used to program on the device itself - It´s horrible. I tried the D50 Librarian on my Desktop PC and it just worked without a single crash - So here is my terrible approach on making music XD
https://soundcloud.com/impedancemusic/i ... oland-d-51
I recorded 35 tracks of the D-50. 33 of it are different sounds, the other two are multiple tracks / layering (I recorded Gurgel Strings twice - one time the unchanged preset, the second time I removed the "Gurgel" Effect just recording the strings and the second is used for layering the Snare Drum). 24 of the sounds are self created Sounds the other 9 are Presets - These are the Presets I used:
Fantasia [Roland PN-D50-00 No.11]
Horn Section [Roland PN-D50-00 No.15]
DigitalNativeDance [Roland PN-D50-00 No.21]
Synthetic Electric [Roland PN-D50-00 No.28]
Orchestra Hit [Roland PN-D50-02 No.83]
Rele Dynamic Brass [PA-Decoder Card Vol.1 Side B No.26]
Oberheim Brass 02 [PA-Decoder Card Vol.3 Side B No.12]
--Kokubostrings-- [Michael Hotop´s Soundset 8 No.71]
GurgelStrings [if someone knows from which card this preset comes from - pls tell me ]
The track is made in FL Studio 20, recorded through a Behringer QX1002USB.
FX Used: OTT, Fruity ParametricEQ2, Maximus (on master), Fruity Limiter (Gating out noise from silent parts), JB OmniVerb, Fruity Stereo Enhancer, Analog Obsession Lovend and Sweet Drums, Fruity Delay 2 and 3, Fruity Reeverb2, TAL Reverb 2 and Filter 2 (Panning FX) and finally Fruity MultibandCompressor.
Also every track was recorded in one piece - No copy and paste.

My entry for OSC #143. A single instance of Cherry Audios CA2600. Played live directly into Bitwig with my LinnStrument and a Tecontrol breath and bite controller for some modulation and arp control...
One take, no editing no fx, pure synth...

My technique for this month might be controversial. I imported human speech into Virtual ANS, and derived all sounds from that. Is this within the spirit and rules of OSC? Look within your hearts and vote accordingly. I wanted to use this synth, and this method was the one I found inspiration in, so I ran with it. But I do believe that the original hardware would produce the same sounds if somehow given the same instructions. Such a fun and strange instrument.
Mixed in Cakewalk, with just the stock Sonitus Compressor. (edit: no not that one, silly auto link, go away.) I tried importing the final mix once again in Virtual ANS to see if it could work as a single instance, but the sound felt like too much of a compromise.

Hi!
Long time since my last OSC, but here is my submission :
https://soundcloud.com/user-637213504/brumes
Recently moved to a new house in the country. Climate is different from what I used to know before, and we lived in the fog for almost two complete weeks so it inspired me this music.
Hope you enjoy it !
I used Diva for this one, but restricted myself to the minimoog's Oscilators, amps and filters. I used the analog enveloppes sometime though. It was pretty tough to get something I liked due to moving, family and day work, but I managed to do it creating each sound from scratch, and it's my first song made in Bitwig too so I learned a lot.
14 Diva instances
I used limiter N°6
And stock FX: Bitwig's EQ Comp Distortion and Saturator

Here's my best request for the last place in this test! Organ "Электроника ЭМ-14 Venta" from the USSR, my first experience of recording an analog instrument, a lot of technical problems, little time. Several keys were partially burned out during the play, so I had to go to an unfamiliar Gm tonality, but it was interesting! I hope this doesn't sound too terrible to your professional ears, ladies and gentlemen, but I've done everything that I can for today, and now I'm giving this short piece of work to your judgment. I left the sound and atmosphere of this ancient analog monster almost intact, including all the characteristic flaws
https://soundcloud.com/user-5930296/iv- ... s-im-alive
12 Venta organs (would take to play this track live. Perhaps less if you learn to reconfigure presets very quickly )
DAW: Cakewalk
FX: ReaFir (as a noise gate), Sanford Delay, Verberate Basic 2, Analog Obsession Harqules, RoughRider 2 and 3, ITD Panner, Polyverse Wider.

Heyo, submission time!
https://soundcloud.com/nyxeles/tricking ... cery-store
The track was made on Linux with Reaper. There are 9 instances of OB-Xd.
Other plugins used:
3x ReaEQ
2x TAL Reverb III
2x x42 Dynamic Compressor
1x ReaGate
1x Wolf Shaper
1x Calf Saturator
1x Reaper Master Limiter
Managed to finish just in time. I kept procrastinating and ended up working on this just this weekend. I had planned to join some more of the past few challenges but didn't end up doing so. Here's to hoping for a bit more consistency this year!

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression
