Hello everyone,

I was hoping you'd be able to steer me in the right direction. I'm hoping to find a plugin (or technique) which will allow me to take a mono track, and make it very wide stereo.

A specific example would be a synthesized mono pad sound. I'd like that stereo deep, wide feel.

I'd prefer AU, but will consider VST. I'm happy to pay for the plugin, no need for it to be free.

Double tracking with a sampler/track and different settings (Pan 99/-99, pitch, delay, EQ, ...) for a binaural impression.

Or uae high-low cut filters and slice up track and pan the EQ of each left and right do it in like at least 8 tracks

Why not just pan the signal hard left or right, then apply a quick 30ms delay or so to the other channel, instant spread and as wide a you could want. Adjust the delay to taste.
This is an old trick that works great for expanding a mono signal to a wide stereo image.

Of course there are plenty of plugins that can do it all for you.

2 classic different flavor chorus effects to make mono pads stereo:

Acon Multiply (freeware) is transparent. Even with up to 6 voices.
TAL Chorus-LX (freeware) has a lot of character. Fat and deep.

In that case, you have loads of options. I can suggest Soundtoys Microshift from the top of my head.

duplicate the 'mono pad sound' and pan each left/right. There is no magic plugin which does that for you

Mono -> Stereo Plugin?
