Stu above would best answer that but yes...
It comes with the free fx (I think they are six of them) the others are as you described.

Hi Slic! Thanks for the question and the opportunity to give an overview of Phase Plant!
Phase Plant is the modular synth from the Kilohearts Ecosystem of plugins. It includes a modular generator section with high-quality analogue-style generators, wavetables, samplers and noise (with more to come in future updates) that can be arranged and routed as you wish with filters, distortion and amplitude modulation available, a modular modulation section with complex modulation options available (and some very cool updates on the way), and (the part you refer to) an effects section that is a host for Kilohearts' range of Snapin effects.
There are a number of free effects available, including Snap Heap, the FREE serial/parallel Snapin host which is a whole bunch of effects in itself with all the available presets (over 100 in the factory collection with more being added).
A little more on Snap Heap: https://kilohearts.com/blog/wtf_is_a_snap_heap
Of course, any Kilohearts effects you already own can be used as Snapins in Phase Plant as well as regular effects in your DAW, including Multipass and Snap Heap, which can also be used within each other for nested multiband and parallel effects.
Check out all the available plugins here: https://kilohearts.com/shop
All Kilohearts host presets (factory and third-party) will work regardless of which Snapins you own, this includes being able to use any macros linked to those Snapins you don't own. You just can't directly tweak the ones you don't have licenses for.
There are regular sales on Kilohearts effects (like the half-price sale for Faturator, Ladder Filter, Distortion and Phaser on right now!) as well as loyalty vouchers and upgrade options for the bundles. Aaaand you can get the whole lot for just $9.99 a month with the Kilohearts Subscription and $100 back every 12 months to buy up the plugins you want to keep.
More on that here: https://kilohearts.com/products/kilohearts_subscription
Finally, note that all Kilohearts effects, synths and hosts are being regularly updated with new features and fixes at no extra cost. There are some very eagerly anticipated updates coming this year... look out!
There are options for everyone! Come join the Kilohearts Family!
Hope that helps!

I should also add, (at least with my personality) it is highly addictive purchasing more of their stuff.
Be very careful
.
I went with the $99 version over the xmas and before the end of the sale updated to the all but premium version, and not bought the faturator. (I had both a few of the snapins before the $99 purchase).

tbh that's what puts me off - it seems perennially incomplete and something of a gateway drug to more stuff from themzvenx wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:29 pm I should also add, (at least with my personality) it is highly addictive purchasing more of their stuff.

Hopefully stu can help you there.
All upgrades are based on what you own. So once I am logged on it will only tell me my upgrade based on what I have license for.
If I log off to get a pricing, it would know I already have standard (I actually have professional) but hope I didn't confuse you totally

I couldn't see it on the web site anywhere, is it VST3? (now Dune has gone VST3 I think I am pretty much just running VST3s!)

Good News @everyone! A new release! Version 1.8.5!
==General==
* Added VST3 support
* Fixed a problem where some popups were cancelled by clicking outside them when they shouldn't be.
* Fixed a problem where the "edited" asterisk in the top bar was not removed properly when saving.
* Fixed a problem where config files could become corrupted and get stuck in this corrupted state.
==Phase Plant==
* Added multiple Unison modes, allowing both more control of regular unison as well as additional creative and chord unison modes.
* Added support for Unison on the Sample generator module.
* Added "Normalize Global Peak" and "Normalize Frame Peak" fixes in the Wavetable Editor
* Added "Center" and "Range" knobs to the Note modulator allow tweaking of the range
* Reworked the layout of the generator modules to give more space to the displays, and hide away complexity when not used.
* Fixed a problem that caused modulation envelopes to not get retriggered at the correct times in monophonic patches.
* Fixed a problem where Gain and Mix was not modulated properly on Poly lanes.
* Fixed a problem where browsers would not understand files with the wrong extension case.
* Fixed a layout issue that could cause status bar to go off screen when preset browser is open.
==Pitch Shifter==
* Added an option for Latency compensation allowing more compensation at the expense of more latency, or no compensation to get zero latency in the dry signal.
==Snap Heap & Multipass==
* Fixed a problem where ADSR envelopes sometimes did not update the state of their gates as the threshold level was adjusted.

You just have to use it to your advantage. They put different things on sale, at 50% off, several times a year so you just wait for your opportunity to get what you want on the cheap. They are also pretty generous with vouchers, so you can get everything you want without spending too much. TBH, though, I don't use a lot of the snap-in stuff, I mostly stick to the basics. If anything, my Snap-Ins probably get more use in sends and inserts than they do in Phaseplant.aMUSEd wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:43 pmtbh that's what puts me off - it seems perennially incomplete and something of a gateway drug to more stuff from themzvenx wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:29 pm I should also add, (at least with my personality) it is highly addictive purchasing more of their stuff.
