There was a new update for Absynth 5.3.3 released briefly and then quickly withdrawn by NI. Its a promising sign that development hasn't been halted and they're likely working on an Apple Silicon update. Apparently the new patches were designed by Brian Clevinger himself. So it appears he might be back on board.

Added new preset pack with 200 patches, plus MAC updates and bug fixes. As always run Native Access.

I did, and I noticed Brian Clevinger's name too. He could be back on board, or those could be patches they had lying around for some time.

I just updated Native Access, and the Absynth update (??) appeared. Has anyone got it to work? On the NI Message Board they still list the current version as 5.3.1!

Got it installed and working. According to the NI Forum, after updating you should open the standalone version of Absynth before using the plugin version so that the patch browser updates! Good to know.

the database to scan and update ...

The only changes I can see: there is a new bank added "Absynth Interstellar" with some presets by Brian Clevinger and others.

AFAIK the update is primarily done for compability with Big Sur.

Hey, that’s way better than them dropping it entirely. There may be a future yet? I know I’m not alone in wishing they’d give a few of their legacy plugins a refresh, including Absynth.

Yip ni pro 53 is still one of my favourites for its own sound character inspite of Rpro5

Anyone get the mysterious new Absynth Update?
