And just for anyone who is looking to make a purchase off of Plugin Boutique, this month's freebie with purchase is Objeq Delay. Just make sure the box is checked for the freebie on checkout

Tempting, but isn't more fair play to support the developers directly by buying from them full price?hardwired wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:26 pm And just for anyone who is looking to make a purchase off of Plugin Boutique, this month's freebie with purchase is Objeq Delay. Of course. And Applied Acoustics is definitely worthy of that support. Amazing company (well aside from discontinuing the incredible Tassmanmartinjuenke wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:42 pmTempting, but isn't more fair play to support the developers directly by buying from them full price?hardwired wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:26 pm And just for anyone who is looking to make a purchase off of Plugin Boutique, this month's freebie with purchase is Objeq Delay. Thing is though, if AAS didn't think this promotion wasn't in their benefit, they wouldn't do it.

Perhaps a new version of Objeq is coming out after the promotion is over, and they're trying to get as many people as possible on the upgrade path?

Oh, you're thinking bad about developers!cthonophonic wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 6:56 pm Perhaps a new version of Objeq is coming out after the promotion is over, and they're trying to get as many people as possible on the upgrade path?
Cheap capitalists they are.
Trying to strip you off your hard earned monies.
To be honest, you're probably completely right...

Or they are just trying to get some attention. You can either pay for ads or give your plugins away for free for some time. I really like developers who go for the second approach

Are you really trying to insinuate here that it is in some way "unfair" to make use of that great deal instead of buying at full price?

whatever reason... that's frankly none of our business actually - they most obviously approved that deal or it wouldn't exist. And a great deal it is - but I do not at all think it's supposed to be seen as an obligation or encouragement or even just an invitation to have a look into their books - from whatever distance a glance it may be. The deal is what it is and that's it.Held wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:41 pm Or they are just trying to get some attention. You can either pay for ads or give your plugins away for free for some time. This "I'm proud to pay only minimum or nothing" attitude of consumers is killing the quality industry in the long run and leave only the big guys with probably inferior quality in the game. Just sayin'...
PS: this may be a slight contradiction to the usual KVR guys attitude "We are the good ones who support the small developers and loathe the big players". Just sayin' as well...

What on earth? Really, you need to stop making stuff up!martinjuenke wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 8:29 am This "I'm proud to pay only minimum or nothing" attitude of consumers..
Please supply us with just a single quote that basically says what you just put into people's mouthes on a grand scheme here! Do it!
There's not "attitude" required to make use of such an offer. You look at it and either decide you want to make use of it - for whatever reason (none of anyone else's business really) - or you don't - for whatever reason (again nobody else's business at all). And - yet again - that is already all there is to it. It's not a matter of morale/ethics - or lack thereof - at all.
And "pride"? Go get some!
Really, dude: you ought only jump on the back of the high horse if you are sure you can ride it. Otherwise you will just look like a fool to at least most of everybody else - and ideally to yourself too. You could use that sort of self-reflection.

For me it's Valhalla Delay and SuperMassive, UVI Relayer (which is also capable of great ambient sounds and weird spaces), sometimes Echoboy and often things I build myself in Melda MXXX or BYOME. Or abusing granulators like crusherX or the GRM one for transposed and reverse delay purposes.

Oh, and just to make sure: if you want to support the company in question and also can afford it that way and therefor decide to pay full price for it: more power to you - absolutely! But this again is nobody else's business.
You are of course totally entitled to come here again say something along the lines of "I like AAS that much and want to support them that personally I decided to not make use of the deal but to instead purchase Objec Delay at full price on their own website".
But even then you should be careful how to word it so that you do not appear as feeling morally superior because of this. There's a thin line between doing the good deed and being presumptous sometimes.
