Yes, as there is no sound demo, I would really like any hint of how/in which direction this sounds. Any hint which exisiting Tone2 synth comes close (if any) ? As I have Electra2 and Icarus2 these are of course the ones I like most. On the start of the thread I thought it might be close to Firebird (which I have too of course), but that does not seem to be the case.

I have bought it and made a short test.
The sound quality is extrem good and also the handling is very user friendly.
It's stable here on Win 8.1 and I don't see any CPU usage up to now, so it seems to be very CPU-friendly. I have now not tested every feature in detail but there is not that much to look for.
Even there is no sample or wavetable-import, there are many possibilties for changes the sound completely.
The spectrum of different sounds goes far beyond "bred and butter" sounds, even if there are not all sounds possible a user can imagine, but that's not the purpose of this VSTi, at least in my view.
The only drawback could be for people who are not used to this synthesis method with the modulators, loopmode and loopspeed.
The best way to find out what's going on is trying different mods, one after the other. The learning curve is very short.
I am used to this synthesis method because I bought years ago Firebird, but got some problems with the effects and stability over the time. But I liked Firebird because you could get very fast basic sound variations. With this "Warlock" it's the same.
Result: Very good done for what it offers and for that price and user-friendly licensing method.

Thank you for dipping your foot into the water
.
Might I ask which ones of the other current Tone2 synths do you use and which of them are your favourite if more than one?
thanks

I also have Electra and Icarus, but only use Electra at the moment.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:10 pm Thank you for dipping your foot into the water.

So that's my favorite tone2 synth. Still amazing and one of the best vsti I have !
I don't use Icarus2 because I don't use dongle software for music. I have upgraded from Icarus 1.6 to 2 but did not know that I need internet activation. But that's no problem. I have some other wavetable synths.

Ok thanks.
(I didn't know icarus used a different copy protection than the others.... I have all and I thought they all just use a .t2k file.. but this is off topic)

How does Warlock's sound compare to Electra? Electra is my favorite sounding synth in the Tone2 portfolio.MorpherX wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:22 pmI also have Electra and Icarus, but only use Electra at the moment.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:10 pm Thank you for dipping your foot into the water.

Icarus2 uses the .t2k file and with the first load it needs to be connected to the internet. Your SSD/HDD is then the dongle. At least this was the case with that Icarus2 I bought.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:23 pm Ok thanks.

Mr. Markus promised to remove this nessacarity for online-activation for Icarus2 but up to now nothing happend.
But this thread goes about "Warlock" and this "little" thing is really "great" !
