Might I ask which ones of the other current Tone2 synths do you use and which of them are your favourite if more than one?

I also have Electra and Icarus, but only use Electra at the moment.
So that's my favorite tone2 synth. Still amazing and one of the best vsti I have !
I don't use Icarus2 because I don't use dongle software for music. I have upgraded from Icarus 1.6 to 2 but did not know that I need internet activation. But that's no problem. I have some other wavetable synths.

You have not to be connected to the internet when you loaded Icarus2 for the first time ? That would be new to me, and of course great !

ah, that i don't know. you're saying you won't run icarus2 because you have to be connected once to the internet to authorize it? because i can use it with no internet connection; but not sure about the first run.

How does Warlock's sound compare to Electra? Electra is my favorite sounding synth in the Tone2 portfolio.

What I write now is my personal first impression !

With the hypersaw and some other tables in combination with a soft filter, soft chorus and a smart delay it sounds more soft than Electra.
But I have now not tested and tried all the millions of combinations but the sound variability is really amazing even you can not load own samples or wavetables !

we're getting off-topic, but wouldn't a new OS install (on a new drive) affect other plugins as well? (that happened here when i wiped my drive & did a clean install).

either way, can't you just re-authorize? or, at least, contact tone2 & sort it out? you're creating an (obvious) issue, but should be simple enough to fix.

meanwhile, waiting for the mac version of warlock. the visual on tasty tatsyn's video gave me a headache; it's like the lsd version of the plugin, or i'm wrong, and that's all ONE synth... with a thousand knobs........

I couldn't remember how it worked exactly during installation. I just tried it without being connected, and it doesn't let you authorize it using the t2k file unless you're connected to the internet.

After I connected again, then it worked fine and it opened up the main display.

right, but you don't need to authorize it once it's authorized... yes? as i can run it with no internet connection.

so again, connect once, authorize, then use forever (or until you replace your computer, or your drive, or grow a beard, or something)...

I know the question isn't directed to me anyhow as far as i know Icarus needs to be connected one time to activate then you can run it perfectly fine offline, wich can be (offtopic) a good thing these days.
Sounds a nice balance between respect for the developer work and the diferent needs and preferences of the users, no dongles, no internet required afterwards....

maybe i shouldn't share this (and it's subjective and personal as __%$&/%()$(=&=______) but my favourite Tone2 synths are Icarus and Rayblaster

5 warlock instances played live except instances 2 and 5 wich and a sustained midi note loop
it does have external fx, reverb and limiter, no eq's or compressors

You made some of the factory sounds?

you're welcome yes i did some of factory patches;

Simple synth but with a wide range of sounds possible and it's own character (specific strenghts and limits)

one of them to me is eg:
the ability to work on sequences/gates/arps live (i'll upload some techno examples later probably)

it has the nice pattern selector so you can be tweaking and changing rythyms live clicking the mouse 2 times (really good to me for eg: live techno...... )

That's one f the things i liked the most about warlock, low CPU use, wide range of sounds evn being a simple synth and the possibility of easily doing lives and changing patterns
