A really nice free acoustic kit that never seems to get any attention is right here at KVR. It's in the Banks/Patches section in the Battery kits and it's called the Ambient kit by Franky D. The kit itself is in Battery format of course but the file does contain the individual .wav files to use in any sampler/drum machine of your choice. :D

Now we're listing stuff, here's some more,

http://www.memi.de/echochamber/exs24/exs242.html

They're all .wav and good quality. Acoustic and electronic. Well categorized as well.

And these were already mentioned but

Check out the Battery bank on this site. Optimist's Yamaha kit is a very nice piece of acoustic drumware. Well worth the d/l.Have used it a lot recently.
Just make the music that you enjoy (failing that go for a walk, watch some porn, have a fight with a random bloke until something else happens).

i didnt mean to start trouble, but it felt very sarcastic to link us from this topic over to the obvious BIG samples link. Sorry but thats how i percieved it, forgive me for being a jerk about it.

Any more free drums, guys? This is great!

Michael, I already linked to your site, you whore! :D Along with the words "kick ass". ;)

Good suggestion on that Battery kit.

Quite OT, admittedly... but I'm going to mention that I've done sfz format mappings of both the above mentioned Ambient and Optimist kits. Ambient's author didn't get back with permission to post, though... /sigh/.

Oh, and nskit7free.

And Michael's kits.

And the CM CDs have had a few kits on, too, that I've mapped.

MMmm...

Anyone else got a drum kit that needs sfz format mapping..?

Thanks, pljones-- you got me into it, and as you know, I've used your work as a template (ie. I ripped it off) to map out a couple kits myself. SFZ = RoXorZ!!1!

Well, LM's mappings are of commercial samplesets... And his website crashed Firefox...
<edit>Well, it's okay in Moox's FF 1.0.1</edit>

My mappings are on my website. (I don't host any of the samples.)
