How do you like it compared to Firebird? seems quite the same
You have not quoted to me, but let me shortly answer

New in Warlock ( or Firebird 2):
Some oscillators have been changed, many new filters, new effects, 2 single effects instead of one, Hypersaw oscillator, Ringmod frequency shift of spectras, Partial count adjustment, Phase adjustment per oscillator, extra Vibrato and an auxiliary envelope witch can be freely routed.
The difference is the same as if i take my old VW Golf engine out and replace it with Lamborgini :)
Looks like upgraded Firebird, but inside is equipped with some kind of super easy mod matrix.
Huge sound stage, the sound is so fat,man have to be careful when use detuning, cause dominate in any direction, nothing in common with plastic tiny sound u may deal with some other synths.
Brutal filters, dope fx section, simplicity of workflow is almost addictive.
The sound feels like something new, fresh with nice futuristic vibe in it.
What else to say, better to do some demo programing tomorrow.

Warlock is Super Dope.I love it.....only thing I do hope for in the future is the same browsing system as the other synths so I can favorite sounds and organize by rating...... This is amazing to create sounds.... GREAT JOB.....

I have tested it several times and the results are not bad.
It produces different sound categories ( from Fx to Pad to Strings to Plucked to Leads to Percussion/Drums etc.).
If you get a results, after pressing it for maybe 10 times, you might have to tweak a bit on the filters or envelopes and effects or change an oscilator type.
All in all it's an inspirating feature which gives astonishing results which you never got when tweaking parameters the conventional way.

The sound is absolutely amazing, so clear and transparent, I am really done :-).

And so great to have all that Firebird sounds back in "polished" new quality with all the amazing new possibilities and soundbanks.

And maybe even me will do some tweaking with this as so much is just self explaining, love the simple right-mouse-button options, the visualization of the "rhythmn" options in the arp. All really done as easy as possible but with that incredibel sound that blows me away.

I have not even touched the randomizer (which is my first turn usually) cause all the soundbanks and the clear elements on the gui are just crying to be discovered.

I dont have the skills to judge this in anyway but it just felt like maybe THE masterpiece of Marcus. Sound, simplicity, presets, randomizer, tweakability...what more you can expect ?

And even with the preset browser: in first reaction I agree to the request in here but second thought: NO, it just fits into this simple environment very well the way it is. Its not synth philosophy, its: Warlock, magic, simple and efficient.

You have bought it or you are judging on the videos here?

No, I bought it tonight, just cant resist. I had no more then two hours playing around with it but am really surprised that this simple looking Firebird follow-up (in some way at least) is so mind-blowing (at least for me :-)).

TBH, I can't really get a picture from the posted sound demos so far. I'm thankful that people do them, but, they either sound like everything is run through a low pass filter, or they feature very unusual sounds.

Would be nice to have some more classic sound examples, without everything filtered to unrecognizability. ;)

Agreed. Nothing I've seen/heard so far makes me want to buy this and I'm sure its not the synth.

Post

I'm sure it isn't. Tone2's synths usually sound very clear/bright/clean.

Yes, the pure preset sound is more impressive then the demos so far.

I was asking in here before buying if the tatsyn ambient presets are included (they are) but the sounds on my track (I just loaded it into an existing sketch testing another lib) are much better then the demos in here so far. I have to admit I had already some EQ and Comp on the track and mastering for the whole track, I did not change anything so the comparision is the already existing kontakt lib on the track and the rest of the sketch.

I think it would be great if someone could just do a preset-walkthrough as long as there is no demo.

Indeed, but for sure random presets..... 2070 presets would be way too long to sit thru :)

Yes, but I think some of the "old" firebirds in new sound, some of the factory presets devellopers and then for some categories would give a valuable impression.

I have to say so far: this clear, transparent and (as someone mentioned before) very "layerable" sound really shown in every preset I have tried so far. On the track I have just some chords fed into, a kontakt pad library on the track, and no matter which preset I try out, it just marvellously blends well with the existing track.

But I am NO sounddesigner and no synthhead at all so thats just my VERY first impression. Thats why I thought if someone could make a preset walkthrough that might help. I wold nearly bet the selection could be kind of randomn, the general quality of the sound would shine through.
