One way or another, they talked about this, but in different ways and without specific proposals ... I think it would be nice to make an option to see all the notes that are in the track (AUTOZOOM), both vertical and horizontal. Hope for user support. Thank you.

Hi,

What does it mean, "Bb3"?

RC - Bb3.jpg

I forget how this was created (generated?, duplicated?), but I know it wasn't anything I did intentionally and I don't know what it means.

Also, the notes (in the Harmony Track) look identical, so why "Bb" in the first case (m4) and "Bb3" in the second case (m8)?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Another pie-in-the-sky idea:

RC Structure library and structure browser. Be able to lay out any section of, or a whole song in terms of parts/lines based on previously defined and saved structures.

Ideally, IMO, the file format for structure definitions and/or the structure library would be pure text. This would allow a vast library of song structures to be created in a text editor and then be subsequently available inside of RC.

Hi Attila,

Now that we're on version 4 is it possible you could get RC to work the way it originally did in regards to opening up more than one instance when using it as a VST. I have many projects from before that I can't use anymore as I had RC on more than one channel . Even though RC is great as a stand-alone I can't use any of the Ableton effects or instruments or samplers or drums . No matter what you can do in the stand-alone you'll always end up dragging it into your DAW so it would make sense just to be able to use all of those features inside your DAW.

Hope you can fix

Good point +1
I can see a use for this too. I didn't realise you could only have 1 instance of RC in the Daw

:tu: There are so many advantages to running RC as a vst especially when it comes to speeding up your workflow.

I also mentioned this problem with phases editing the other day .

Using v4.18b.

After editing a phrase, using the pencil icon in the generator, the preview displays correctly but the preview in context button plays the original phrase.

I am fixing this annoying issue. This is a consequence of the possibility to edit the generator while keeping the generator properties. The edited notes are the top layer, when notes are manually edited, always these notes are used. However the phrase inspector displays the generated phrase, not the edited one. Unfortunately the edited phrase is displayed first, but then it is overwritten when the preview is updated. I'll have a fix in 1-2 days.

Thanks!

It means a Bb major chord, 3rd octave, 2 semitones below C4.
Chords can include an optional octave number. The octave is displayed with bold, together with the chord note, so C5 is C major in octave 5, but C5 is a C fifth chord, octave unspecified (4 by default).

I realized you cannot edit the octave since the UI rework, this is fixed in the next beta version.

Thanks!

RapidComposer v4.1b9 is available

Improvements:
  • MIDI files can be dropped on the progression browser to save the chord progression
  • Improved detecting and importing 'chords only' MIDI files, other chord detection improvements
  • Up and down arrows find the next transposition for phrases rather than increasing/decreasing the semitone transposition which may or may not change the phrase
  • 'Lightning' button added to folder tracks in the Idea Tool which regenerates all tracks in the folder. This way multiple drum tracks can be regenerated with one click, for example.

Hi,

v4.1b9 crashes on launch here. (Windows stand-alone)

Post

I am checking this. I have found and fixed a bug I realized after I uploaded beta9 that can cause this.

Post

The Windows version has been rebuilt and uploaded again and does not crash. I am building the macOS version. Sorry for this...

Yes, this is a good idea, thanks!

A minor thing -

I understand that RC's title bar does show the last-saved file name, but I think it would be extra informative if the pop-up "Composition saved" message read "Composition saved: <filename>".

In particular I think it would make the 'Save Composition (Incremental)' process more obvious.
