Hey thanks for keeping this list! I notice on you list surge (which is great) but also point people at the nightly. For folks who want production code, Surge 1.8.1 is a production release and is universal too (as was 1.8.0 but that had non-arm bugs we fixed in 1.8.1
).

Thanks for pointing this out. Perhaps it would be wise to add a reference to this on the main page. I am finding that a lot of developers are releasing universal binaries but neglecting to mention it in their supported systems sections.baconpaul wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:00 pm Hey thanks for keeping this list! Good idea. We put it in our release notes, on the KVR page here, and in our 1.8.0 announcement but forgot to update the website! Doh!! Will do so now.teilo wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:19 pmThanks for pointing this out. Perhaps it would be wise to add a reference to this on the main page. Youlean is 2.4.3 (beta).
My tests indicate about 25% performance increase vs native. (while running cooler).
I could run more tracks native, but somewhere between 470 and 480 instances it simply crashes, it's a logic bug.

Just a quick note that all of Rogue Amoeba's software has official support for Apple Silicon - https://rogueamoeba.com/status/. Airfoil is now on v5.10.2, and there have been small updates to some of the other apps.

Yes, but I don't intend to update the version numbers for every subsequent release, except when a plugin comes out of beta. So the version should be read as "or later".rnb_2 wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:42 pm Just a quick note that all of Rogue Amoeba's software has official support for Apple Silicon - https://rogueamoeba.com/status/. Can you point me to where they document this? I don't want to install demos to find out.Ploki wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 6:07 pm Voxengo is rolling out Native builds, Warmifier and EBusLim first

MAAT has now released Universal Binary 2 updates for 11 of their 15 plugins. https://www.maat.digital/support/
So, basically all except for thEQorange, thEQred, thEQblue and SantaCruzEQ
It looks like they ditched both iLok and more recently CodeMeter, which likely has contributed to a more accelerated release timeline. My understanding is that until iLok adapts their protection for native M1 support, none of their licensees can. Am I wrong? Have we seen a single M1 native iLok protected plugin in the wild yet?

Man. I fired up my new maxed out M1 mini last night and wow! I’ve never had Logic load this fast even when it was on a maxed out PC in the V4 days. I’m still in the middle of redoing all my installations from scratch rather than migrating over as my old machine had tons of junk in it. I can’t wait to try Kaivo and Aalto, which beats the ever living shit out of my i7 MacBook Pro.

iLok works in Rosetta2 for x64 plugins. But you are correct. Until iLok is AS-native, no native plugins can be released.Tronam wrote: Sat Feb 06, 2021 5:58 am MAAT has now released Universal Binary 2 updates for 11 of their 15 plugins. https://www.maat.digital/support/

no we haven't. i tried poking around in beta forums of a vendor with iLok, but didn't get an answer.Tronam wrote: Sat Feb 06, 2021 5:58 am It looks like they ditched both iLok and more recently CodeMeter, which likely has contributed to a more accelerated release timeline. Agreed, updating all the versions would be madness - I was mostly just pointing out that all of their products are out of beta now, in case anyone was avoiding betas for some reason.teilo wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:50 pmYes, but I don't intend to update the version numbers for every subsequent release, except when a plugin comes out of beta.
