Yes I do agree SB is indeed aggressively trying to dissuade any new development of vst 2.4 plugins.
So you know, some of u-he (plugins and effects), all fuse audio (effects), Synapse Dune 3 are all vst 3.7 and vst 2.4. There may be others too.

I dont get why it doesn't have the same browser as the rest of T2 stuff.... if it's brand new, coded from scratch syntb, surely it just a copy/paste for the browser....
seems very strange to make it allegedly so diff from firebird, but use the same browser and look....

Hypersaw in Warlock:
- Is the first entry in the Hypersaw window the same as no Hypersaw because I don't see a switch or botton to disable it ?
Vibrato in Warlock:
- Is there a way to adjust the intensity of the vibrato if a user has no modwheel connected ?

1x mono = 'hypersaw off'
vibrato without modwheel:
-Set sine as a waveform for the lfo
-set frequency to 6 hz
-set lfo routing-target to fine
-set send level according to the depth you want

2 further things:
If I want to run Warlock in Reaper 6.2 x64 in own prozess (bridged) with GUI integrated I only get a white window
or no window. If I run it bridged with GUI not integrated the GUI is there. If I run Warlock in Reaper-Prozess everything is fine.
The Reaper bridge is sometimes needed when there are to many VSTis running in Reapers own VSTi prozess.( because of CPU and memory usage)
Second, I have two own made banks from Firebird 2.1 and would like to use these presets in Warlock. As you have some Firebird 2 banks included, I want to request if it would be possible to load that banks or "old" Firebird 2 presets.

If you are running Reaper in 64 bit mode it does not make sense to bridge a 64 bit plugin. 64 bit means nearly infinite RAM that can be adressed. Modern hosts distribute the CPU load fine among the cores. Using a bridge always means additional overhead and can also have negative impact on the stability. You should only use a bridge to load a 32bit plugin.
Warlock does not need much CPU in general.
Firebird patches can not be loaded in the current version. If you send me the soundbank i can convert it and include it to warlock (but only if the content is really good)

Maybe the end of next week.
Native linux support is unlikely. We did not receive requests for this platform so far and we are a small company with limited resources .
People have reported that our other plugins seem to run quite well on linux with wine.
I only tested it with Zorin for myself (which is really great by the way). There our stuff did work with some minor glitches

GreatI also already posted that I will further enhance the patch management.
Presets will not longer be forgotten when you load a new bank.
It will be also possible to auto-load custom soundbanks.
After my grumbling on the presets (which will be fixed, so no more grumbling
- I never found any randomn button that gives such great and useable results, after playing round with it for some hours now you can really say: 1 of 10 is a hit and gives you something to work with
- now that alone wont be such impressive BUT as this "to work with" is the most easy and self-explanatory I have ever found in a synth (mouse over explanations of the categories for the right mouse button is really all you need) THATS really what makes it such a great and fun to play with synth
What I have to add: I am a preset addicted, no sound designer at all (in a classification in sounddesign knowledge from 1 to 10 I would give me a 2-3 in the best case) but you dont really need to know WHAT you are doing, WHERE (in the sounddesign process) it is what you are doing and whats it all about cause all is done in the same way (mouse over explanation, right mouse button for the categories you can choose, even in some cases foreward/backward buttons which is geniously especially when you dont know where you are and what you are doing really
So it dont matter if you choose a waveform for the oscillator, a modification of it, a filter (there > < are really great cause I never can remember what a special filter will do, so I just try and hear), a modulation....and as you can HEAR what you are doing (and in many cases see like with the oscillators and filters) and these genious little visualisations of what is going on (like for the rhythmn in the arp), for me its like a braille for sounddesign noobs like me
And this all with that great and clear GUI where you never get the impression of being overwhelmed or lost. I repeat myself but I really think this is a masterpiece (even if I doubt many people will see it as such, not shiny enough, not complicated enough......).

I'm going to send you a PM with a commercial bank I did for Pro Sounds way back in February 2007.Markus Krause wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:14 pm Firebird patches can not be loaded in the current version. It was done on Firebird + before it became freeware.
How those sounds hold up 14 years later to the day I can't say but you're free to use them if you wish. Would be interesting to see how they translate to Warlock. Whether they're "really good" or not now is up to you.
I remember Xenos and I did a collaboration bank as well. If he still has it you're free to use that as well again if you wish and he doesn't mind.

Understand that, even though I prefer developers who commit to linux too. It's just good grace I think.Markus Krause wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:40 pm Native linux support is unlikely. We did not receive requests for this platform so far and we are a small company with limited resources .

If I remember right the real strength when I used it where really these free/former sometimes commercial banks floating round with the last Firebird version(s). Of course there must have been lot more then the included 6 now. Maybe worth looking for and including in case the conversion makes sense. Sadly Firebird gets lost somewhere in the moving of PC, operating system, daw in my environment so I dont have a version of it with all the banks to have a look at.

All you have to do is read the Vital forums to know what trouble a developer can have with a Linux version. Poor Matt has had all sorts of trouble with his Linux version. Too many distros to keep up with these days.kaerus wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:34 pm Understand that, even though I prefer developers who commit to linux too. It's just good grace I think.
There is enough work for small developers just to keep up with the Windows and Mac versions.
Now I'm a huge fan of Linux and have a dedicated Kubuntu system and have used many other distros but I wouldn't try to make music with Linux at least not yet.
Some day I'd love to see Linux become the preferred OS for music production but fear we're a long way off from that ever becoming a reality.

I'm sorry @Teksonic, but where is the critisicm from Vital against Linux ?
Still I think Linux compat would be great to have as I myself tend to swap between linux and os x, never windows.
