really, what's the point of this? am a macuser (since forever), but the whole 'mac vs pc' thing is old, tired... pointless. why anyone would care which OS anyone else runs is absurd... and childish. :dog:

am waiting for the mac version too. and will be back, to talk about the subject of this thread, when i've got warlock installed...

childish or not. thats rubish, of coarse the OS matters a lot.

actually, either OS will: get you online, let you email. edit photos. make music. edit video. they're just 2 (slightly) different paths to the same things, and anyone who thinks the OS they chose is (coincidentally) the 'superior' OS is completely missing the point;

it's NOT the OS, it's the user. someone making great music on a PC has more value than someone making mediocre music on a mac. and vice-versa...

let it go, and let's get this thread back on track.

we are on track, mr K said os x is on the way soonish, like next week. And I'm all eager to test and buy this plugin. Infact I've been keen on all of his plugins.

I hate to interrupt the fascinating discussion as to which operating system sucks more, Winsucks or OSuX or Linsucks, but I would love it if there was a way to copy/paste patches in order to organize them in banks.

Right now it looks like all loaded patches automatically load into Factory Bank A, and I can't really figure out a way to move them into Custom.

Also, assuming that the six "Empty Soundbanks" are just "THIS SPACE RESERVED FOR FUTURE PRESETS", it'd be nice to have more than one Custom bank.

I still use Gforce synths often enough that I'm not immediately put off by the "presettin' like it's 1999" aesthetic, but at the same time, I'd kinda like to at least have a tiny tiiiinnnyyyyy bit of ketchup with my austere preset-system gruel. Having a nice drop-down is great, but having 23 of 24 "quick-access" spaces within that drop-down devoted to factory packs which I'll never personally be using is a bit of a pain.

And what would be really awesome is - since there's no samples or custom wavetables - we could actually export to (and import from) XML. I find this really invaluable for dealing with the occasional DAW crash - if the patch I've created isn't really something I plan on using outside of one particular project, I can just copy the XML into the "notes" area of my project file, and if I crash and lose the current VST settings (happens sometimes, just enough to keep me on my toes :D), I can restore just by pasting the XML back in, instead of having to save a zillion various presets which I've only created in order to protect against in-project preset-losing crashes.

you didn't interrupt, since we'd both moved on. you simply brought up the subject again...

meanwhile, i've put a (virtual) spot in my (imagined) rack, for warlock, and raided my dad's wallet for cash... so am ready for the mac os warlock.

I never lost a sound through a crash. It should be the task of the DAW to recover it...

I'm a multi-OS user, but thank you.

Owned a Macbook Pro a couple of years ago, and have had one for tha last three years at work.

Been working professionally with Linux (SUSE and RHEL mostly), and HP-UX and Solaris between 2005 and 2012, also hold the CLA and CLE certifications, even though they might not be up to date 2021. But I'm not a complete noob.

I'm going to send you a PM with a commercial bank I did for Pro Sounds way back in February 2007.

It was done on Firebird + before it became freeware.

How those sounds hold up 14 years later to the day I can't say but you're free to use them if you wish. Would be interesting to see how they translate to Warlock. Whether they're "really good" or not now is up to you.

I remember Xenos and I did a collaboration bank as well. If he still has it you're free to use that as well again if you wish and he doesn't mind.
Thanks. Please send your bank to markus( at) tone.com.
I will convert it, go through it and check out if it can be included to Warlock.

Can someone post sound examples of presets? Two ambient videos someone posted are ok but would love to hear more and without loads of reverb, just to hear character of the synth. Thank you!

Start to assemble official demo of my presets using few old songs with some upgrades of melody, harmony so on.
Warlock has such a huge sound stage every external reverb must be very carefully dosed, please criticize mix and share what i miss about the mix, till end of this week will focus on composition, then during weekend will make corrections on the final mix.
Cheers :)

I think your mixing is fubar but of the limiited samples I've heard of warlock I think I like it.

Oh and my tips, get rid of all effects + eq and use a multipressor as a start. Check with different headphones + speakers and fix the clarity of the mix, it just sounds a bit mumbled to me.

Cool, then you atleast appriciate multi OS plugins. I've been fiddling with HP-UX myself but it was in the 90:ies. Solaris was fine, we deployed a lot of those until they disapeared.

Markus - what's your position on the NKS format? I can't remember if your plugs are supporting NKS or not. Just curious.
