Thank you all. Yes, I really love the organic timbres from Plasmonic.
Another example...what about a strummed piano/hybrid thingie.

Well, it ended its launch period quite recently, so not so sure ...Dirtgrain wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 5:22 pm Anyone know if Plasmonic is likely to go on sale in the near future?

more excellent stuff... all these examples could be unusual acoustic instruments. That is my favorite physical modeling.Cinebient wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 8:48 pm Thank you all. Yes, I really love the organic timbres from Plasmonic.

Indeed, I like how you can fast and easy create kinds of piano, harp, guitar hybrids. It also can do nice woodwinds. Brass and strings are a bit harder but I just start to explore it and I guess if someone really get deep and take time you can create also very realistic instruments. But I also prefer such hybrids which sound somewhat realistic but actually are never heard instruments.pdxindy wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 4:46 ammore excellent stuff... all these examples could be unusual acoustic instruments. First I thought I miss the great morphing Sculpture can do but actually Plasmonic is even better here. The resonator looks simple at first look but I really think now its the most advanced single resonator ever. I find the percussions I can get out of this better as from Chromaphone f.e.
Bowing instruments are the hardest part yet and I hope here we see something added things in the future. I also would love to see some more impulses.
However, you can really create so much different timbres which even can sound so different on each note if you like.
This is not only my new favourite synth but also one of my new favourites for keys. It will not replace something like Pianoteq but I think it can do similar great stuff in terms of organic feeling.
Also its a v1 and so I think we will see some great new things added in the future (hopefully).
I think with a more modern GUI it would be a much better seller as well.
Still the main contra, the GUI and some parts of the workflow but then its really so much more powerful as I thought, also in terms of modulations. There must gone much thoughts about all this little randomisations and organic behaviours into the engine which really stands out for me here more as in any other physical modelling tool or synth. Call me a Plasmonic fanboy from now

Indeed. I'd be very interested to hear what you come up with in this department, especially remembering your organic and very alive-sounding patches on the Pulsar Modular P900.Cinebient wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:16 am Brass and strings are a bit harder but I just start to explore it and I guess if someone really get deep and take time you can create also very realistic instruments.

I will See. Plasmonic takes much more time, especially if you also want to edit presets with MPE usage (since I own a Seaboard Rise 25 which I do not used yet in any of these presets, so all you heard was mainly just plain midi on/off with some velocity changes, so there is much more alive sound possible of course).Old Norse wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:36 amIndeed. For me P900 still is very unique and has for me by far the best saturation and behaviour in terms of high resonance in any tool I used yet but actually its now "only" my second favourite synth after Plasmonic

I just had this idea. This synth is so rich and lush and I was wondering if I use a high sample rate, like 96KHz, would it be even richer? I'll try it but curious if anyone has experience recording at higher sample rates like this?

It depends on whether Plasmonic is already oversampled or not.killmaster wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 2:33 pm I just had this idea. what's the endgame? if you record at a high sample rate, and you mix at that same rate, and listen back to those very mixes on studio monitors, it might be worthwhile.killmaster wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 2:33 pm I just had this idea. if you end up with mp3s, or your music is streaming, there's no point. but certainly worth trying...

Thanks! Yeh, I'd want to either play live or have compositions that would end up on Soundcloud or other streaming service. Going to try and record at 96 for now. I can't really tell much different with my ears.fisherKing wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 5:38 pmwhat's the endgame? if you record at a high sample rate, and you mix at that same rate, and listen back to those very mixes on studio monitors, it might be worthwhile.killmaster wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 2:33 pm I just had this idea.
